If You Are Frustrated With LEGO Mess And Sick And Tired Of Those Lego Bricks All Over The Floor You Are Going To Love The Award Winning BOX4BLOX.
Voted "Best Kids Gift Idea" in Santa Choice Awards; "Best Home Organizing Product of the Year" by the National Association of Professional Organizers; and recipient of the coveted "Award of Excellence" by the Toy Man, who rated the BOX4BLOX "The ultimate Lego storage idea that turns your every day Lego mess into organizational magic".
Invented by a Mom of four kids, this simple invention is guaranteed to solve all your Lego problems and get that LEGO disaster zone off your floor, once and for all!
Let's face it, it is not only all about the Lego mess, but: how many times have you stepped on that sharp Lego piece?; or had to retrieve that Lego part from the vacuum cleaner?; or the kids have had trouble finding or have lost parts from expensive Lego sets?
How The BOX4BLOX Works
By utilizing the same simple sorting concept as a coin sorter, the BOX4BLOX is made up of four trays with small, medium and large grids on a base tray, plus a lid. Just remove the lid and load handfuls of Legos into the top tray, gently shaking and occasionally tilting the box to keep some grids exposed. The Lego pieces are quickly sorted into a tray with similar sized pieces, with: large parts in the top yellow tray; medium to large in the blue tray; medium to small bricks in the red tray and all those hard to find bits and pieces ending up in the bottom tray. When it is time to play, just unstack the trays, giving each tray a stir with your hand as you go and all the Lego pieces can be easily found without having to tip them all over the floor, effectively eliminating all your Lego hassles!

This was a great idea but it needs improvement. First, I feel it is overpriced. I only got it because I had some amazon points sitting around waiting to be used. Second, while the idea of sorting the pieces by size is exactly what I was looking for, this does not do a great job. However, I think it would be more effective if they eliminated the largest holed section and put in a section even smaller than the existing smallest section. Long explanation to follow.
A few things I do like about it- it stacks well, holds a decent amount of Lego bricks and seems very sturdy/durable.
The holes are the following sizes: yellow: 7/8", blue: just under 3/4", red: 1/2" (green just catches the rest)
When we got this we put all my boys LEGO blocks through it. We have several Star Wars sets and a couple LEGO JR. sets. About 40% ended up in the bottom(green). Another 40% in the Red section. About 15% in the Blue and Yellow. The last 5% I left for the very large pieces that have no need to be sorted because you can easily pick them out yourself. I was very disappointed because what I really wanted to be able to find are those little tiny skinny 1x1,1x2, button and similar pieces. This sorter did not help with finding those.
I created a grid with plastic and tape that when placed in the Yellow section makes holes that are 3/8". When we put that between the red and green sections, half of what was previously in the bottom was now in the "new" yellow section leaving (mostly) only those little tiny pieces in the bottom. This improvising to actually make it useful and my lack of motivation to ship it back are why we are keeping it.Read more ›
The Box4Blox worked quite well for our LEGO collection, which is on the small to medium side. It is much easier for the little guy to play and he has not felt the need to dump anything out, yet! A couple other added bonuses are that it is Made in the USA and there are holes in the lid, to remove it, so I can drop pieces in that I find laying around the house without opening it!
The box is attractive, well made, and comes with a 5 year warranty. I recommend it to anyone who wants an easier way to organize LEGO or other building toys without having to hand sort everything.
