I had purchased another brand and had trouble with it running down the expensive batteries frequently. This one however has not presented with this problem and it has done the job really well for me on my 5dMkIII.

The unit died after a couple of months of light use. There are some better units offered on Amazon. This is the second cheap one that I have purchased. When I need them they fail. I spent a few extra dollars and got a unit that is a much better build in my opinion. The item came on time and came as described. Very satisfied. This thing is awesome! Great product for a really good price. I tested it at 25ft in a completely different room and it worked. Doubt I'll have to buy another one but if I do, I'd get it from this seller.

Really not a toy. I have three bird feeders in my yard -- five if you count the two hummingbird feeders. The birds that visit them are a shock of colors, and a source of endless joy to watch. However to get photographs of them is something else. To get close enough to be able to get good pictures of them means to get too close for the birds' comfort. So I bought this affordable gadget, and straight out of the box, I inserted the supplied battery, plugged the teceiver into my trusty Canon 40D and started firing away. It worked perfectly. I recommend it highly if you ever want to take pictures with a remote control. I know it fits Canon, but I suspect that the camera's connecter port is actually industry standard, and any moderate to high end DSLR would work with it.

This has been my go-to remote release with a Canon 5D II for over three years. It's dead reliable out to at least a hundred yards and doesn't have any sort of directional limitation as with infrared triggers. I don't think I've ever replaced the battery in either component. The receiver fits securely in the flash shoe and the build and cable quality leaves little to be desired. The only reason you might consider something else is if you wanted an intervalometer to take an automated picture series. Those come in wired and wireless styles. The wireless kind (starting at around $30) duplicates the functionality of this unit.

It does what it's supposed to and the price is right. I was expecting to use it at an event that in the end I didn't need it for, but in testing, it works fine. Manual is horrible. The interface is strange; you have to put it on Bulb setting for it to immediately fire, otherwise it has a hard-wired delay built in.

I got this to use with my Canon 7D. Works the way I expected. I've used it up to 25 feet with no problems. I really don't need to use it any farther, so I haven't tried to take it out to the max of 100m. It works for what I need it for.

This unit is simple and very well made considering the price.
It work exactly as advertised. Very handy for self portraits or other shots where you would other wise have to use the self timer. Well woth the money.

Product works great for basic photography but not great with bulb setting. When I tried 2 plus second exposures it would open the shutter but would have to press the button 2-3 times to shut the shutter, which made for some lengthy exposures
