AMP-V25 Amplifier
Easily amplify your handheld radio to 20-40W (2-6W Input). The AMP‑V25 is a time-saving (and cost saving) alternative to mobile and base radios that simply duplicate the same programming your handheld radio already has.
Supported Radios
The AMP‑V25 will also work with any handheld radio that outputs 2W–6W with the appropriate connecting RF cable. The AMP‑V25 includes the SMA Female connecting cable to hook right up to BTECH and BaoFeng radios right out of the box.
Lightweight Amplifier
Easily install in a home or mobile environment; the AMP‑V25 measures just 5.5" x 4.5" x 1.4" and weighs just 1.8lb making it the perfect companion for field operation without adding a lot of weight.
Cleaner Output Signal
Harmonic filters on the input allow the amplifier to transmit a cleaner output signal. The amplifier is so well engineered that in most circumstances it transmits a cleaner, purer signal then it receives from your handheld radio
Protection Circuitry
The AMP-V25 includes voltage spike suppression, over-temperature protection, RF sensing, and automatic power control (APC) to protect it under adverse operating conditions.
AMP‑V25 - VHF Amplifier
What is it?
The BTECH AMP-U25 amplifier is a portable, lightweight, wide coverage RF power amplifier for handheld radio equipment and is equally capable of amplifying both analog and digital signals.
Pair with the UT-72 Antenna for easy installation to your vehicle, or connect to another UHF base, mobile, or field antenna.
Supported Amplification Modes
The AMP-V25 operates from 136-174 MHz and can be used for analog FM, P25 Phase 1, C4FM (System Fusion), NXDN, IDAS, dPMR, and MPT1327 modes.
The AMP‑V25 supports out-of-band transmitting, while the amplifier is turned off. When transmitting out-of-band the amplifier will pass-through the signal without amplification
Built In Loud-Speaker
When you connect your handheld radio with the radio control cable; the amplifier will use it's own loud 4W built-in speaker to broadcast the incoming audio.

The BTECH AMP-25 Series is designed to work with any BaoFeng or BTECH handheld transceivers, but it will also work with any handheld radio that outputs 2 W – 6 W with the appropriate cable. With the included Radio to Amplifier RF Cable, the amplifier will also work with Wouxun transceivers, some TYT transceivers, and some Kenwood transceivers. If the supplied cables do not connect to your radio, you will need to use adaptors or build cables with the appropriate connectors.
Your BTECH AMP-25 amplifier does not include an antenna. It is very important to not transmit without an antenna or dummy load connected to the ANT connector on the rear panel of the amplifier.
Transmitting without an antenna or dummy load may cause harm to the radio equipment.
When choosing an antenna, make sure that it is suitable for the bands you plan on transmitting and receiving on. For example, if you plan on transmitting on 145MHz, make sure that the antenna you select has an SWR of 1.5:1 or less on that frequency. Using an antenna with an SWR greater than 1.5:1 could damage the amplifier.
If you plan to use a magnetically-mounted (mag-mount) antennas, ensure that the antenna is grounded to a metal surface, such as a vehicle body. Magnetically-mounted antennas do not operate properly without a good ground.

Ok so tested the replacement amp today. And it was cranking 37 watts hooked up to a UV-5R radio. Now this is acceptable vs the first one. You have to check these radios and Amos when you get them. I have had 4 units of different models this year that were all bad. Two BF-8HPs, one of these Amos and one of the 50x2 mobiles.
Original Review:
What a piece of junk.
Hooked up a UV-5R outputting just shy of 4 watts and 1.1 SWR on the output of the amplifier I was only getting 25.7 watts and 1.08 SWR.. excellent SWR poor power.
Hooked up a 6watt radio and it only output 20.6 watts... Yes it went DOWN at higher power. Again great SWR of 1.06. that's 50% of the advertised performance.. I would expect about 36watts being the minimum this would output at 6watts in.

Update: I've had this amp for several months now and use it with at least four different radios and it remains next to worthless. I can open more repeaters with a 19" whip on the handheld inside the vehicle than I can with the amp attached. Power meter says 8 watts maximum output with 4 watt input. Big, big waste of money.
The only downside is that the dual-end SMA-Male RF cable that comes with the amp to connect to the HT is a bit flimsy I'm it's connection between the cable and the SMA connector. However again one email to BTECH and the only question was where do we ship the replacement cables to.
Product quality is great and customer service is too notch. The only thing I recommend personally is to get a thicker (ex. 195) 2x SMA-M RF cable for your HT connection. Other than that it's a wonderful investment and I would definitely buy again!
Used it with a TYT UV-F9 TYT TH-UVF9 Dual Band Amateur Ham Radio 220/2m (200-260 & 136-174 MHz) HT, running the HT antenna jack to the input of the amp. Be sure to check the SWR of your antenna *with the HT* before switching the linear amp on. I've found that the extra power makes an HT possible to use as a mobile (with an exterior antenna) in rougher topography than an HT alone.
The "T" connector on the power cable didn't fit with any of the other cables that I own. It's just a little too wide. I deducted one star for this.
