After a week, it started randomly keying up on it's own, cycling between transmitting and receiving. Last night, it finally just decided to transmit all the time. It lasted less than two weeks before I had to send it back. If the longevity could live up to the great user experience, this would be a five star radio. Back it went.
Things to improve:
1. FM broadcast radio reception is not good. I would expect fantastic FM reception when connected to a J pole 25 feet up in the sky. It probably doesn't use the attached antenna for FM.
2. Mic cable length and flexibility. The Microphone cable is short and very stiff. This means it's less than 18 inches in practical length and hard to pull any further away. A more flexible cable would help the mic be more usable without having to have my face less than two feet from the radio.
I hope Btech keeps making and refining this radio. It's size and performance is great.
