So I have had the replacement unit for quite a few weeks, in fact I want to apologize to the seller because I did not review and rate the BTH 240 earlier! First of all, I am happy to say that it i working perfectly. I have used it with various different USB devices, 2 phone, 2 Tablets, and my computer and it works great with all my devices. I listen to a lot of music when I walk my dogs and so the BTH240 is perfect. The music has a full sound, the headset covers your ears well, yet you can the UPS truck tear down the street, so it is not a health hazard which is important to me. Yes I like to envelop myself in music, but not become oblivious to my surroundings. I also have gotten a lot of good comments from people on the "sassy" red hot color! I also love to make phone calls with the BTH240. I can hear the other person clearly and they can hear me very well. I call my mom overseas who is also hard of hearing, but she has no problem hearing me with the BTH 240! What more can I say, world class seller and excellent product at a very decent price!
Now to the issues. I'm 6'6" and a bit on the rotund size. When my phone is in my pocket the BT connection cuts out far too often. the S305s would cut out every now and then but nothing like this. There is also an extremely bright light that flashes when it is on. I've never understood why BT devices have to have a annoying light when they are on.
Now I'm back to what works for me.
Pairing the Kinivo is a snap. Hold down the center button on the right ear pod until the LED flashes red and blue. Select the Kinivo BTH240 on the device you're pairing with. You're done. No weird combo actions; no pressing the button exactly 12 times while standing on one foot and whistling Dixie. It just works.
Volume controls are easy to find 'blind' (but you could put a tiny file dot on the down volume button to make it even easier).
Another feature I like about these headphones is that they tell you when they're low on battery charge. The LED flashes red when they're low on power and it beeps softly. So many other headphones just give out without warning, so this is a very nice touch. Charging takes two to three hours depending on how far down you let them drain.
Each comes with a soft pull-string pouch for storage, and they fold up compactly to fit into the pouch without stressing any point on the headphone. I wish the pouch was the same color as the headphone that comes with it, but since I don't usually travel with more than one device and headphone pair, the pouch color certainly doesn't matter much.
I now have a black Kinivo headphone, a blue pair and a red pair in use. The second black pair ended up staying with my parents after Christmas vacation when my mom discovered they were much more comfortable than what she was trying to use with her Kindle. So I suppose I need to order another one, if I can find a color other than blue, red or black that's not hot pink (not my choice of a color, thanks!) - and for the very reasonable price, I don't hesitate to order one to pair with any new electronic doodad I acquire —including my new iMac.
The volume is great, controls are intuitive and pairing was simple. I wish the other colors had been available when I ordered because I can assure you I would not be sporting red but whatever.
The set stays in place throughout a long, sweaty fast walk - I haven't started running yet but they are very secure and can be adjusted to your ears to fit as snugly as you need. I wear glasses and I have no issue wearing them with my glasses. I also have a petite frame and, I assume, smaller head and I have lots of room in these in the back so I imagine they'd for someone with a larger head as well.
