AESTHETICS AND READING COMFORT:
This case is nearly perfect for my Paperwhite. It's lightweight, adding virtually nothing to the weight of the Kindle, yet protects it very well. The exterior material is soft and rather cushiony, making it comfortable to hold for extended periods. I've used it extensively for about two weeks, tossed it in my purse repeatedly, and it's not showing any signs of dirt or wear. The interior lining is a soft suede, which feels nice against your hand when opened and protects the screen when closed. The pattern and colors, both inside and out, are bold. The lining is hot pink/fuchsia. I had thought it was too bright and would be distracting while reading, but I quickly got used to it. The material that holds the Kindle itself is a stretchy polyester/neoprene. It definitely holds it securely, such that it could be a slight pain to take the Kindle in and out repeatedly. I have no need to do that so I can't really comment.

INCREASED READING TIME:
I'm pleased with the case from an aesthetic angle, but my favorite thing is how much it's increased the variety of ways I can hold my Paperwhite. I was reading "naked" for about a month. Although I really liked the unit itself, I found it uncomfortable to hold for any length of time. This case has helped immensely in that respect. The extra volume the case provides gives you more material to grip. It's soft and cushy, so it's easy on your hands. There's an elastic strap that holds the cover closed when you're not using it. Once you open the case, you can flip that strap over the back and use it as a hand strap to further offset the weight. Not great, but not bad, either. The cover bends back easily so you can fold it behind the PW, or you can hold it fully open like a book. Both are very comfortable positions.

The four mesh fabric corners that hold the device in the case are remarkable. It takes a little doing at first to stretch them around the Kindle's corners, but once done, it's clear that the Kindle isn't going to fall out under any circumstance. No stringy elastic bands or brittle hooks here. The case feels like part of the device. The outside is lightly cushioned, and is edged with rubber. It's an unusual feel at first, but the result is that it's nearly impossible to drop by accident. Yet because the rubber is confined to the edging, the case doesn't feel like a huge rubber glove. Very happy with this purchase.

this Built case is awesome: kindle paperwhite fits snuggly, it does fold back for a one-hand holding (you can even use the strap for your hand, tho not advertised as such), it is thin but soft and solid enough to protect my kindle that has been dropped already, and it is lightweight! MUCH better than the marware juni (= my other choice) that has the same claims but is much more bulky and does not fold easily. i did not see this cover when i searched for covers until i actually received my kindle with the 30% discount on accessories (which did not include amazon's custom case... but i like this one's features even better!), so i am thrilled i found it! i'd recommend it to everyone.

My wife loves this case - she got the Vine pattern, and it fits her Kindle Paperwhite perfectly. The Kindle fits in snugly, so no worries about it falling out. The corners do not touch the actual screen at all, so they do not interfere with reading. As others mentioned, the strap to hold the case closed fits into a little groove in the top cover, so the strap doesn't stick out thicker then the cover face itself. She has no problems at all reaching the power button, and can also plug in the charger while the Kindle is in the case. Reading in landscape mode is easy because the case will stand propped open by itself. The fabric is so pretty, and the pink lining makes it look very stylish. I had originally bought her the Paperwhite Leather cover with the magnetic closure, but she did not like it. That case felt very slick and she did not like the fact that you cannot completely power down the Paperwhite in that cover. Even when you turn it off, when you close the cover, it puts the Kindle back into sleep mode, not completely off. She felt that was running the battery down too quickly. This BUILT case is perfect protection without being too heavy. If you love your Paperwhite....get this case!

This case protects my kindle very well but the strap that you can pull around the cover has already had a lot of loose threads. I have had this case only for about a week and the strap is falling apart because threads are coming loose.

I agree with another reviewer that the Roocase and Fintie are both very good and very close; the choice between the two is personal. Both use the magnetic mechanism to hold the case closed and turn the Paperwhite on and off. The Roocase is a little larger but slightly thinner and has a tapered profile that slides better into the briefcase, while the Fintie is more boxy. My personal preference was the Roocase and I returned the other two.

The Built trails the above two because it lacks the magnetic activation. It's a simpler case with an elastic strap to hold the case closed. The switch of the Paperwhite is a little hard to press so the magnetic activation is a big plus IMO.

As far as the weight is concerned the three are very close: Built 3.8 oz, Fintie 3.5 oz and Roocase 3.4 oz. All three are synthetic which is a plus for someone like me who is into animal welfare. IMO the Roocase also has the best feel for holding, with a soft padded feel. I was not aware of any bad smells from the Roocase as some have mentioned.

In summary I recommend the Roocase or Fintie over the Built, and my personal choice was the Roocase. I shall also cross-post this review.
