A wood disc hang tag will be attached to the handle. You can personalize the wood disc hang tag using a sharpie pen (name, initials, date). This basket respectfully named after my deceased father, are handcrafted on our small farm in Western, North Carolina. Living on a farm always allows us to have a garden, this is where the Burlin Baskets comes in handy. They are made using mostly oak and other hardwoods. The handles are made from refurbished old tobacco sticks from a family barn. Therefore no basket is the same. Each baskets rustic characteristics have been naturally fashioned into the wood as a result of the many years in which the sticks purpose was to hang tobacco on to dry in the barn. We do not alter what nature has created. The sticks will have dings, chips and cracks from the many years of use. They are both decorative and useful, sturdy built and meant to last a life time. The holding capacity is enormous with the strength for weight bearing fruits & vegetables like potatoes, squash, cucumbers ,apples, oranges. The wire mesh made of galvanized steel is weather resistant and allows you to hose off your harvest before bringing them inside. Use as a picnic basket, storage, magazines, herbs, kindling, etc. Now grab that BURLIN and head to the garden! The size of this basket is 20"x 10"x 11.5"

Technical Details
Production Method The BURLIN is a unique harvesting basket handcrafted on our small farm in Western, North Carolina. We use old tobacco sticks for the handles. These sticks were used by the first settler in our area to spear their tobacco on then hung in the barn to dry. Tobacco growing is a thing of the past here now. The sticks once a useful tool are now left in so many of the barns that are falling down. The sticks are usually about four feet long, they are picked through using the strongest ones for the handles. Each handle has a rustic characteristic naturally fashion into the wood. Only food grade mineral oil is used to help preserve the baskets, allowing the natural beauty and maintaining the integrity of the wood
