Personally I liked NOFX's stuff better just because I'm a bigger fan of them. I'm a huge Rancid fan, too, but the vocals on "Don't Call Me White" and "Moron Bros." were kind of annoying. I guess just because Tim and Matt's vocal style doesn't really match up well with Fat Mike's, so it sounds really weird. As for NOFX, I liked all the songs. "Tenderloin" kind of bugged me because at first I didn't even recognize it until he started singing the chorus, but it was an okay cover. "Antennas" was awesome, and so was "Corozon De Oro." Their version of "Radio" was hilarious. I've talked to Rancid fans that hated that, but it's pretty obvious that it's a joke, especially if they saw them play it live at Warped Tour in 2002. They brought out a few rastafarians to play keyboard for it. It was great.
Best tracks are NOFX - "Olympia, WA" and Rancid - "Stickin In My Eye" or "The Brews," I can't decide.
Overall it's a cool buy, but before getting this I'd probably suggest owning most, if not all, of the NOFX and Rancid albums so you recognize the songs. It'll be cooler that way.
Nofx's versions of Olympia, Antennas, and Corozon de Oro are all flawlessly done! Olympia sounds a lot like the Rancid version but does have a slightly different feel, but is done perfectly. Nofx change up Antennas a bit, mainly speeding it up, and even adding their own ending to the song, which is really cool! Corozon de Oro is changed a lot from the Rancid version, it is sped up, and is honestly more fun than the Rancid version, though the Rancid version has a lot more soul! Nofx's version of Radio is cool, they basically turn Radio into a complete reggae song with El Hefe on vocals. I am the One and Tenderloin are both very well done as well, though they sound mostly similar to the Rancid versions with a few added parts and changed basslines and guitar solos. I am the One is particularly cool with Fat Mike doing a great job on the bass despite his always saying he is a crap bass player, he is obviously a very good bass player.
My favorite Rancid cuts are probably Brews, Bob, and Vanilla Sex. Though I really love all 6 of their covers. I think Rancid definitely chose better Nofx songs to cover than Nofx did in their selection. Bob is an absolutely amazing cover, I almost like it more than the original because I like the more straight ahead punk rock feel of Rancid's version more than the Nofx ska version, but it's an sick song in either form. I thought that NOFX could've chose better Rancid songs to cover, but their version of Olympia WA was almost better than the original.
Now Rancid chose some great songs and did them well. Their versions of Don't Call Me White and Brews is excellent and their version of Vanilla Sex is classic.
Don't pass this one by. It's more than a novelty.

The idea of have bands do covers of each others songs seems almost an invitation to disaster on paper, and when you have bands like NOFX and Rancid it can seem even more likely. Read morePublished 14 months ago by Ozone Joe
Two of my favorite bands playing each other's songs. The best of the split series in my opinion. That should be praise enough, right?Published 16 months ago by Sam Valsler
Love the cd. It is a little different, but it is a must own for anyone looking to mix up the music. NOFX's version of radio blows it out of the park. It is awesome.Published 23 months ago by Pat Robison
Do not order from imports. I ordered a NEW version on vinyl. Recieved an already opened and scratched up version. Skips so bad, it's not even worth playing. Read morePublished on February 1, 2014 by Ryan Traub
