Not for Fine/Thin Hair

The heating plates on this flat iron have a gap so if you have thin/fine hair, it will not grab the hair and straighten it evenly. I thought it was a random problem, but this is the second flat iron I ordered. If the plates did match up flat, then it would have been the perfect travel flat iron.

Love it! Purchased this for a trip to New Zealand and Australia. So much more compact and light weight than your standard straightening iron. The dual voltage is built in so I did not have to purchase a converter. Although smaller than my normal flat iron, the blades are still large enough that it only took me about 5 extra minutes to flat iron my hair (I have long (8-10 inches past my shoulders) medium thick hair). Included a photo to show the size. Would absolutely recommend.

I bought this to take on vacation to Spain and France because my normal one is not the correct voltage for Europe. This device automatically selects the correct voltage, so it can be used in the USA, also. The plug is NOT a standard plug for Europe, so you will need an adapter to use this abroad. I really like how small it is, because it didn't take up too much space in my luggage. It did a good job of straightening my hair, and it stayed straight until the next wash. The one thing I did not like about this iron is how hot the handle gets. Even the little rubber grips where you are supposed to hold it get hot really quickly. Within 5 minutes of plugging it in and turning it on, it would become uncomfortable to hold.

For reference - I have long, fine and generally straight hair naturally but I get a lot of frizz around my crown and the top layer of my hair so I like to use an iron to smooth out that section or add volume at my roots. I also sometimes use it to create beach-y waves all over. Even though my high-end salon straightener/flat iron said it was dual voltage, I didn't want to take any chances while traveling for 8 days across Peru. So instead I decided to purchase and take the Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Mini with the 1-inch plates. I'll admit that when it arrived and I saw how small and light it was I was skeptical, but it worked perfectly both at home in the US and in multiple hotel rooms in Peru. In fact, it is so light and convenient that I have reached for this instead of my pro one a few times since getting back from my trip. I've seen a few reviews here where people complained that it got too hot to hold while styling but I am guessing those folks did not see the two rubber buttons/grips on each side of the iron that are there to protect your fingers. I haven't been burned once using them! My only complaint - and it is a small one - is that if I rush and grab too much hair, it doesn't glide smoothly and my hair gets snagged in the plates. But that is user error, not the iron's fault. If I take the time to just grab the right amount of hair, it works perfectly. I am quite happy with the performance and size is super convenient for travel. I think this would also make a great first iron for someone (just be mindful there is only one heat setting and no auto shut-off).

First trip I used this on, today. Sadly too late for return it appears on Amazon. Flat iron doesn’t open very wide to slide small thin section of hair into. Biggest issue: the front part of flat plate pulls/snags hair as if it has a grate as you pull hair through to flatten. I have owned larger BaByBliss Titanium flat irons for years and loved them, but this is a never to be used again product. You can hear it snagging/scraping as you pull through - argh!!!

I purchased this one inch straightener for my 14 year old daughter; she loves it. I wouldn't recommend it for long, thick hair. It wouldn't be impossible, but it may be a bit impractical. Although, I think there's an exception for traveling. This compact iron is lightweight (just over a pound). The titanium plates heat up quickly and remains hot. It's comfortable to hold and thoughtfully designed. It's a little champion.

This flat iron is amazing! It is so small it almost looks like a flat iron for a doll. Don't let the size fool you. I have medium thick, naturally curly hair and this iron had no problem getting all of my hair straight. If you are used to a flat iron, you should have no problem using this. This is the best flat iron for traveling, the gym, or stashed in your desk at work. I would highly recommend this flat iron.
