Government agents from Homeland Security, in league with private investors, want Bobby because of his ability, and they will do anything to get there, leaving a trail of pain and blood to prove it. Without invoking any spoilers, the reader is forced to the end of the book to discover why people are going to such lengths to find the boy, and what happens in the last few pages as the chase reaches its climax.
