My son started wearing sunglasses when he was 2 months old. He is now over 2 years old. I have tried many brands:
- Julbo - best fit for infants. I cut the legs of his first pair in half so they would not go past his ears. That worked great for the first few months. Then the next pair (around 7mo) fit without adjustments. They fit close to the head but are not tight, s they never bothered him. They can be thrown, chewed on, licked, and nothing happens to them. They have no parts that could pinch or crews that could be swallowed. But around 18m, the wrap style started to annoy my son.
Baby Banz - too rigid for infants and too wrapped / tight for toddlers. My son hated the strap around his head even though he has no problem wearing hats. They might be ok if they just happen to fit your baby's face shape perfectly, but otherwise, they look uncomfortable and my son hated them.
- Roshambo - too big for infants but great quality and fit for toddlers. They can be chewed on and thrown without breaking or, so far, scratching. The legs have never gotten unhinged. The lense is pretty dark, which sometimes annoyed my toddler when the sun wasn't too bright, but he loves them in the sun.
- Mustachifier - I bought these a couple of months aggo despite loving his current Roshambos because the frame looks like mine, and my son likes that. But I am very disappointed. The fit is weird, tilted down somehow, like it has too much separation between the forehead and the top of the frame, even when it is pushed up against the bridge of the nose. Also, the lenses keep falling off the frames and are already scratched. And the screw of one leg fell off yesterday. My son is older now, so he has not given these sunglasses the rough treatment that the Roshambos or Julbos got, and still these fell apart in just a few weeks. And the texture of the frame is less bendable than Roshambos, more like grownup glasses, so it left marks on his nose and I am sure would have broken if my son still chewed on things and threw things on the floor. The lense is not as dak, which probably means his eyes are not as protected.
So.... Going back to Roshambo for my toddler and Julbo for my infant.

They fold his ears over(see photo) and to be snug enough to where they don’t need to be readjusted the center part leaves a huge mark on my sons forehead
Scratch very easy. So if your child takes these off and throws them off the stroller- scratched to hell.
They say polarized and uva and uvb but my son still drastically squints. They don’t change much of the light coming in.
For reference- son is 9 months. 21 lbs.
Ill be buying (reluctantly) a few other versions on amazon until we have that “go to” pair

My son would rather go blind than have these on his head

These Baby Banz in Pacific Blue were a gift for a friend's baby in Germany so whatever I say is only my opinion from photos. He's 4 months on 7th July but is robust with a larger head. I was happily surprised in the photo his Baby Banz were 'slightly large'. From some reviews I read I was concerned they'd not fit at all. This means they'll fit great over the cute knit and brim caps she has for him so they'll fit him for another 20 months. They look adorable and he seems to enjoy wearing them! He is a happy, anything goes, Mr Personality baby, so he probably knows he looks cool, yes? 😎 I don't know if this was helpful or not but the Sunglasses looked and seemed to fit better than I'd imagined after some reviews I'd read. If I can get the mother's permission I will post photos of him wearing his new shades.😎

We have appreciated Baby Banz as one of the only options for wrap-around sunglasses, but the polarized film started separating after only a few months, and the strap is made of poor quality foam and plastic material outer which ends up disintegrating into the environment. This is not an environmentally friendly product, but it is one of the only ones out there for good polarized lenses (our first pair broke from the plastic becoming fragile in the heat).

I bought this for my baby nephew. Not sure if it is the design or his face shape, but the bottom of the lens keeps cutting into his skin under his eyes. Poor baby. He is only 6 months old. Every time we take it off, he has red marks under his orbits. We've tried to loosen it, but it still leaves impressions on his skin. We'll have to see if it gets better when he gets a bit older.

We tried several baby sunglasses in the past, but none were polarized so I returned them. Living in the desert and spending part of the year on the water with the grandparents made polarization paramount (really, only polarized glasses should exist). They are also comfortable and the baby loves wearing them. After having them for only two weeks, the baby has started asking for them before we go out. They are comfortable and I love that she loves them and wants to wear them.

He pulled them down around his neck and pulled it tight, when he stopped pulling the band didn't release. The band gets thick when pulled passed the velcro fuzz. Luckily he was being watched. They worked well when he was an infant but now he's 2 and is able to adjust them himself. Scary.

I'm hoping he'll enjoy them more when they are a little more snug

Its cute, if he'll wear it. Unfortunately the velcro should have gone further back on the band so that we could pull the band tighter. Right now it gets stuck at the joint. As a result it slides around his face when he looks around while in the stroller. He's 4 months with a big head so its not the head that's the issue. I'm hoping he'll enjoy them more when they are a little more snug.
They are good looking, doesn't dull the images or create an odd colour.
