5.0 out of 5 stars Trust is important and in this book takes a beating.
By Linda Hillman on August 25, 2019
Jonas and Esther love each other and want to marry. Jonas is a dedicated worker and Esther is afraid it will take all of his time. She finds a baby in the weeds beside the road and falls instantly in love her. When Jonas comes to visit her she shows him the baby and tells him her decision he sees the distinctive stitching on the blanket and fears he knows who left the baby and because of shock he reacts negatively and leaves. Esther takes it badly and waits for Jonas's return. They decide to marry and against the Bishop's advice he doesn't tell Esther his suspicions of their adoptive daughter's parentage causing problems when the truth becomes known. Now, she doesn't know if she can ever trust him. She should take the baby and leave? This book is well written, interesting and I read it without stopping. I highly recommend it.
