By Beau Yarbrough VINE VOICE on May 18, 2009
Format: Board book
This "book" is actually a box containing 26 tiny board books, each with three double-page spreads featuring an image (often from Getty Images, so they're very pretty, albeit sometimes too complex, in the way Baby Einstein can be) across from the word.

So A has Airplane, Alligator and Apple, with a cartoon, photo and painting, respectively. (The painting of the apples is probably too difficult for younger children to identify as such.)

Our son loves to carry the books around, presenting them to adults to read to him and now, at 22 months, has begun announcing the names of each letter as he does so, which I credit in large part to him wanting to drill with these books over and over and over.

While there are some duds -- X has what you'd expect, with "X" being the third choice in the book, as there aren't three kid-ready words beginning with the letter -- our son loves most of these, going so far as to rip out the painting of a cat from C (oops!).

Although you may have some trouble keeping all 26 out from under furniture or out of little hiding holes around your home, these books are definitely worth the seemingly high price tag. (And I'm a Scrooge when it comes to most baby goods, which I find to be very low value for the price, as a rule.)

These little books are great! Just the right size for my daughter's little hands. The books have many actual photos and some beautiful illustrations. I bought this box set not only to encourage letter identification but, to promote language and reading skill (turning pages/pretending to read). My daughter was behind in language skills and thes books helped enormously.

Bought these for my son who loves everything to do with the alphabet and he enjoys them every day! They are small and come in their own compact carry case so they are great when we travel or visit family. Thanks Amazon!

I got these books for my goddaughter, and she loves them. They are really small, much smaller than I expected, but they are perfect for her to hold. The box fell apart after a few days, but I glued it back together and it seems to be holding. She knows almost all the pictures, my only problem is that some of the pictures are not what I would use for a 2 year old. The picture of the apple is a painting of a bowl of apples, kind of hard to tell her that is an apple. Other than that they work well.

This is one of the best toddler products I've purchased (and I have purchased A LOT!). My 16 month old is into learning his letter sounds, and he went nuts over these books. The box is sturdy and holds them all easily, the books each have three simple words in them, and the pictures are great. I'm happy that both the upper and lower case letters are shown.

Great, sturdy box containing a mini book for each letter of the alphabet. Each letter's book has a picture and the written word for something that begins with the letter.

My 13 month old LOVES her alphabooks. We got them for her at 12 months and she was only interested in pulling the books in and out of the box. Now, she loves when we read them to her (over and over and over). These have helped her identify animals and objects and also recognize the word. For example, the "N" book has a picture and word for "nose." As we read it, my daughter points to her own nose.

Couldn't be happier with this product.

Best ever collection if baby books. This is my second set I have bought, my first one was tore up by my puppy and when my second child was born I knew I had to get them again. My son is 3 and knows all his letter, his letter sounds, and can read beginner words. I think its due to these books teaching him to love and learn letters very early on.

I thought that these would be such a big hit, but they aren't really as liked by my son as I thought they would be. First, they create quite a mess to keep track of, and, although we keep a tidy house, we have already misplaced the letter "B". Second, like someone else pointed out, some of the letters have Baby Einstein characters(animals) on them that don't match the letter! I would have preferred that the letter on the front of each book not have any animal so that I could have my son focus in on the letter itself. As for the pictures on the inside, I really have no complaints. I like that there are three and are a nice mix of photos, objects, cartoons, and artwork.
