Fun for toddlers & easy to clean

This is a fun toy for toddlers. What's neat about it is that the key surface is a smooth piece of wood and very easy to keep clean. The keyboard also includes a few song cards that can be played one of three ways:

1. "Free style" by pushing the keys associated with the colors on the song card.

2. "Auto" mode can be activated when flicking a switch on the side of the keyboard's electronics. This will allow the child to play the song without having to push the right keys, every key press will play the next note.

3. "Demo" mode will play a more complex song with a button push. The song played will vary based on the card inserted.

My only gripe with this is that the red color printed on the card looks more orange than red which might be confusing to young children. Otherwise this a fun toy for little ones to learn the basic concepts of a piano.

Don’t let baby play with this alone!

My 1 year old granddaughter loved this toy! Very well made and sturdy. A big BUT.....It is made mostly out of wood so it is quite heavy - I would guess about 4 pounds so you can’t use it on play table because it can hurt their feet if they pull it off. So we decided to set it on the floor and my 1 year old granddaughter loved it until she reached for it and it fell forward and the top of it hit her in the nose leaving a bruise! It is a design flaw in the toy so I cannot understand how this toy won awards - did they even have babies test it? I will put it away until she is a little older. The actual Musical functions of the toy are wonderful. I tried adding a photo/video but was unable to. I will try and add later.

Overall I’m really impressed with this piano. It sounds good and it’s been dropped a few times and is holding up well. My only complaint is the color of the music dots on the cards that come with it. The orange and red dots look a lot a like in color. My brother (the actual piano player in the family) pointed out which ones are actually supposed to be red. I colored those in with a red permanent marker to make them red and not orange. My three year old loves trying to match the dots to make the song and my two year old just plays freely. It’s a great first piano.

Granddaughter loves this piano, great product!

Although it says it's for 12+ months, we decided to get it earlier as we thought my granddaughter would really like it, and we'd only allow use with supervision.
She LOVES it, and at 7 months old will sit and play with this for long periods. After initial play, she'll go do something else then within minutes come back to it and play some more, and repeat.
The "sheet music" is quite sturdy, she bends it backwards and forwards while in the slots, and she has yet (knock on wood) to cause a crease in the plastic.
I gave a 4 for sturdiness just for the sense that if they push backwards on the top or pull it towards them, it will go over, but that shouldn't be too much of a concern. Otherwise the sturdiness is good.
Product seems very durable, I was actually impressed once opening it. We'll definitely be giving this as a gift to others.

One oddity - there's a feature where after playing the notes on the "sheet music", the piano then continues the rest of the song. Sometimes it has a bit of a long delay before picking up on the rest of it, and occasionally hasn't done it at all. I'm not sure why that is, but it's not enough for me to mark it down.

I highly recommend this toy piano. Once she's a little older, we'll get a toy piano that has the realistic keys, but for now (and a while) this is terrific.

I really like this little guy. It’s good for teaching my daughter how the colors associate with the keys, except for the fact that the colors do not exactly associate with the colors of the keys. I deducted a star for this. It would have been easy for Baby Einstein to make the colors coordinate. I feel like they had the music cards made and were like “that’d cut into our profits if we fixed it, just ship it!” Like they did in the scene with the kids book from the movie Elf.

My 20 month old son loves it. I love it since there aren't buttons to get gross. Super easy to wipe down. I do wish it came with more music cards, and I do wish the colors on the cards matched a little more to the keys on the board. But for now, he just smashes on it to make noise so it's not big deal. Lol

This toy is so cute, and knew I had to buy it for my sons first birthday. He doesn’t particularly love the piano part and it’s a flat surface. He does however like the blue button in the middle that plays the whole song.

He’s a big fan of the music cards, however the the print on them has worn away pretty quickly which is sad. He likes to touch the animals on the cards and the musical dots..but I’m not sure he’ll be able to much longer as they’re fading away.

The piano seems to be quite sturdy..just wish the same could be said for the cards.

Likes:
* Clever induction sensors on the wood make a toy that's easy to clean and child-safe
* Plastic music sheets are durable playthings
* Baby gets a lot of value out of pressing the auto-play button and listening to tunes

Dislikes:
* Speaker resonates and distorts on high volume setting
* Product isn't in the standard pitch so we can't play along with another instrument without retuning, and there is no obvious way to tune the oscillator in the piano.
* Each black key shares the same sensor as a white key, if it's too expensive to add the appropriate semitone notes just eliminate the sensor here!
* The mismatch between the colours on the sheets and the colours on the keyboard is really damning, especially since the ability to play be colour is a claimed product feature.
* The easily accessible auto-play button provides no incentive to experiment with the keyboard. It should be possible to disable this.

This product is really disappointing. It has so much potential to be a fantastic little plaything but is let down by careless design choices and poor assembly.

I am not aware of anything better in this space, and might even still reluctantly recommend this piano... but it's so disappointing that only slightly more thought and attention to detail could have resulted in something fantastic, while the result here is merely mediocre.

The colours don't corresponde

This piano is such a good idea in theory. But after opening ours, we soon realised the coloured dots on the music sheets - (which your child is ']meant to match to the colours on the keyboard to be able to play a tune) do not match
. Orange on the sheet is the red on the keyboard. Yet there is a red on the keyboard as well. Therefore, not playing the tune it is meant to. How can a toy like this be produced and yet no one has realised the biggest fault of all. It is such a shame. Brillant idea, badly executed.

Great idea but the colours on the music don’t much the colours in the music! So it’s impossible to teach the child to match it and play as they don’t much! Instead of red is pink and so on. Very disappointed!

This is almost a wonderful toy. However, the electronic design does not allow the manufacturer to adjust the pitch of the finished product to exactly match the standard tuning of a piano. I have tried four different ones, and all were between half and one semitone flat. If just a little more money had been spent on the electronics, the toy would have been much improved.

I was sceptical of this product, as I am with all musical toys (they often sound horrible). But I got it because it said it sounds like a real piano. And I am actually really happy with it. The sound is only ever so slightly tinny, but a far cry from most other musical toys. The melodies are nice and you can change the setting to piano only or to playing songs when you touch the keys. Most importantly, my 14mo loves it! At this point he simply likes listening to the melodies and dancing to them, but I suspect when he's older he'll enjoy creating his own melodies. For piano aficionados: the black keys don't work so only melodies in c major are playable.
Definitely a worthwhile investment for us!
