I bought this stroller months ago in anticipation of having a newborn and a toddler to cart around. Well, I used it 3 times with my toddler while still pregnant and it was great, it unfolded/folded really easily and assembly took mere minutes. I was easily able to maneuver it by myself even though I had major back issues while pregnant. I waited to review this product though until my newborn came along and I could see how well it worked with the two of them. And I LOVE it. It's the best investment I've ever made for my kids...well, equipment-wise that is. It has many different pieces in using it with a carseat and regular seat however, each piece fits nice and securely and I've never had to 'fight' with this stroller to get it out of my car or put it away. This stroller actually makes me want to go out on walks with the kiddos, every time I use it I smile! Thank you Baby Jogger for making such an awesome stroller that's not a side by side nor does it regulate one child to sit below and stare at the bottom of the seat in front of them. LOVE!
We've already been beating this stroller up, while we wait for #2 to arrive and so far (3 months of use) it works great. I hated to spend so much money on a stroller, but it has been earning it's keep. My husband worries that someone will steal it at the park, but the brake lock is so unusual (on the handle), I hope most thieves would be deterred :) The push is excellent (I was worried) and the wheels can handle Alaska tundra, farm mud, and playground dirt. Hope we still love it AND can push it when the second child is loaded up.
Update: After five months of use and the arrival of baby #2 we still love the stroller. It is working well to use one seat and one car seat adapter (must purchase separately). The push is fine with both boys loaded and I love that the seat is removable so the stroller becomes a (expensive) snap and go to push the infant in his carrier. The wheels are standing up to winter fine and capable in a few inches of snow, slush, or parking lot ice. I'm sure this is heavier and bulkier than many strollers, but for a quality double it is worth it. Also I wasn't expecting so many comments when we are out and about: It looks really good: "a Cadillac" and seems easy to push to other jealous mothers :)
I originally had a city mini and I really liked it however my daughter did not seem to like it as much, she always wanted to get out of it. When she was just 9 months I found out I was pregnant again. We did plan on trying again when she turned 1 so this was just a few months ahead of time and that was ok. However even though we knew we were gonna have kids close together that somehow slipped our minds when buying our first stroller, since we should have been looking for a double. I love how this goes from a single to a double, it would be awful to buy a double and then only take 1 kid to the store yet your still stuck struggling with a double. This stroller is not a waste of money at all and my daughter loved it and never wanted to get out, but when she turned 2, it was all "i'm to big for it" and she never wanted to ride again. The only things that were a waste of money was thinking we'd use it as a double alot. I only used it with 2 kids in it at the same time maybe 5 times. My toddler would usually ride in a shopping cart with my husband while I pushed the baby in the infant car seat w/ the car seat attachment. but again that only happened maybe 5 times too. My toddler rode in her infant car seat put in a snap n go (best thing ever made) til she was 14 months, however my 2nd never really liked the infant car seat, so I usually put her in my baby bjorn carrier, then when she could hold her head good I put in a Kokopax back pack (she is a carry me baby). Now that she is 16 months she is finally willing to ride in the stroller and does like it as long as its always in motion. So thankfully I am finally getting alot of use out of this very expensive stroller. we bought the glider attachment so my toddler could stand on it and ride (since she is too big to sit in it) and she loves to glide. all these extra attachments have brought the cost of this stroller to about $1000 EEK!!! so for use we could have saved money by not buying the second seat or car seat attachment, but who knew we wouldn't use them we are not psychic and all babies are different u never know what one is gonna like. me MIGHT craigs list the car seat attachment but I don't know yet.
Cons: (only 1) don't like that the canopy doesn't come down as far as it did on the city mini (one of the selling points for me with the city mini)
IMPORTANT NOTE: while u can't fold this stroller up with 2 seats on it, u can fold it with one. I find for me its easier to fold up and unfold if I take the seat off and just fold the base, its really awkward to fold it with the seat. also ALWAYS LOCK IT. my husband put it the car one day without locking it and I went to the store late one night with my toddler and trying to unfold it my figure got in it wrong and since it wasn't locked my finger was caught. I could not free it and no matter what I tried with my one free hand it made it worse and closed in tighter with each move. No one was in the parking lot for me to scream for help and that thing is HEAVY. I made a split second decision to just rip my finger out (and that could have easily been a bad move) luckily it worked, I was in tears and I swear to god that I could have lost my finger that night. To be safe always remove all seats (this way u can get a better grip in the right areas to hold it, and ALWAYS MAKE SURE ITS LOCKED so that it wont open and move was u are trying to get it out of the car and set up. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!
