How we got our start? As a new mom and pediatric physical therapist, I was trying to find a way to help my baby sleep better. I knew he slept best in a cozy, contained environment so I created a Sleepsuit to simulate this feeling for use in his crib. The results were "magic" and the Magic Sleepsuit was born!
What makes our product unique? The Magic Sleepsuit is the original swaddle transition product. Our patented Sleepsuit is designed to provide babies with a cozy and calming sleep environment. It is for babies who are ready to transition from the swaddle, yet still need that cozy, secure feeling to aid in their sleep.
Why we love what we do?I love the idea that something I created for my own babies is making a difference in so many lives by providing the gift of sleep to new parents! I loved doing that as a pediatric physical therapist and now I can do it in a much bigger way.
The Magic Sleepsuit is a patented swaddle transition product that helps transition babies from the swaddle by providing them with a cozy, secure feeling. The Magic Sleepsuit was created by a mother of four who is a pediatric physical therapist to improve the quality and duration of her babies' sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the bare crib only in a room at the recommended temperature for babies. The Magic Sleepsuit should not be used for co-sleeping, or with any sleep positioners.
The Magic Sleepsuit has a soft, breathable jersey cotton inner layer, a soft microfleece or cotton outer layer and a layer of polyfil in between for just enough comfort. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced at approximately three months of age when babies are transitioning from the swaddle or smaller sleep space. Proper fit and timing of introduction are critical to the safety and effectiveness of the Magic Sleepsuit. Babies should be transitioned out of the Magic Sleepsuit when they roll over or try to roll over in it and are ready for more freedom of movement in their sleep.
The Magic Sleepsuit provides your baby with a cozy and calming sleep environment that will become a consistent part of their sleep routine. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to aid in baby's sleep patterns, and give parents peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development.

She wouldn't sleep in swaddles anymore, and this does limit movement a little while keeping her warm. I also think that she's now begun to associate being put in the suit with sleeping. It's my opinion that it helps with breastfeeding, despite many reviews saying it made it impossible. I think it's difficult to get a good position without a support pillow, and I found I didn't need one when she's in this, plus she's less wiggly which is always a bonus when someone is attached to you in a sensitive area. The last pro would be how ridiculously cute babies look wearing this, like a baby Stay Puft marshmallow man.
Here's why I don't love it: It's fussy to clean. It needs to be run on the gentle cycle, then line dried. That means when I need to clean it, she won't wear it for at least one nap. Also, and this is a big one, it makes it difficult for her to use her hands to self soothe. It's so bulky that it's hard for her to get her hand to her mouth, which may make her sleep issues worse than before I bought this. Actually, just writing this review makes me think I'm going to try ditching this tonight and see how it goes.
When he turned 3 months old we desperately gave the magic sleep suit a shot and he slept 10 hrs straight...in his crib! He has slept through the night every night in his crib for the last 3 weeks (8+ hours a night). We can even put him in his crib awake, and as long as he's in his sleep suit he can fall asleep on his own. This would've never happened before the sleep suit! I never write reviews but this product saved us and now I tell every new mom about this! Our favorite baby product by far!

Fits well and baby sleeps nice in it!
When she did roll over in the suit, I stopped using it and moved on to a different sack. But for the 6-weeks of transition from the swaddler to armless-sleep sack, this was AMAZING. I am SO glad I had it, because I did not worry about her rolling with her arms swaddled or worry about her smacking herself awake as she startled!
Washing: inside-out in the machine, stretch it and hang it inside out to dry, flip it to right-way out half-way through drying and/or put into dryer to get rid of the last dampness. Or buy two.
