Each page has both a picture as well as a short easy-to-follow description of how to correctly use the sign. This definitely has the important words that I want my son to be able to communicate. Although, it would be nice to have please and thank you.
The pictures are great, though really, he is learning the signs best through using them in context. This is mostly just helpful to learn the words and reinforce them.
I started doing these signs when my son was about 4 1/2 months old. Most commonly 'milk'. He is now 6 1/2 months and already giggles and gets VERY excited when I make the sign to him, he knows whats coming! :)
I look forward to him being able to sign back to me one day!
We have now mastered all 14 of these signs and use them every day and have now moved on to the next books!

A friend of mine has a 17 month old baby who still only knows one sign, but I noticed she doesn't incorporate any of the signs in their daily routine. It takes repetition, and lots of it. This book is a fun introductions to baby sign language. As my little guy gets older, I will try and add a more diverse set of sign language.
Would like to have had the actions for Grandma & Grandpa...
Nice pictures describing actions and will make a fun baby book when child is old enough.
