Editorial Reviews

A BABY STORY captures the experience of having a baby. . .from the early preparation to the delivery room. From traditional births to adoption, follow each couple as they tell their own story of the joys and frustrations of becoming a parent. Episode 38: Sarah, 32, is a church youth director, and Russell, 32, is an actor and an assistant at a production company. The two had what you might call a lengthy courtship. They met during the last year of college and proceeded to date and break up over a period of eight years. Finally, they realized they couldn't live without each other, and they've now been married for three years. After 18 months of battling infertility, the couple is ecstatic to be pregnant. Sarah does confess her fears about the major life change, however, and Russell worries about not having enough money to support their child, but both know these are normal first-time parent worries and are so excited that the baby's nursery is already complete - three months early! Since this is the first grandchild on both sides, there is also a lot of excitement on the part of their families. Sarah's father has already bought and read four books on pregnancy. Sarah and Russell feel strongly about instilling a sense of self-confidence in their children, and teaching them to be loving and giving to others. Russell is trying to talk Sarah into having four kids, but right now, Sarah says it's hard to think past the one on the way!

From a walk in Griffith Park to yoga to African Dance for expectant mothers, this has something for everyone.

Personally, I love this episode, but I may be a little biased, as "Baby Werkman" is my son. He's 10 years old now, doing well in school, and if he can't be a NY Yankee, he wants to be an inventor... just in case you were interested. Hey, this is better than a blog!
