Poor Quality Materials

I purchased this bed after reading reviews and believing that I was buying a quality, safe product. Long story short, 18 months after buying the product, two springs have snapped off of the spring frame. Upon discussion with the company, I am past my one year warranty, so I have to pay to replace the spring frame (plus $25 for shipping). I have no time for a company that doesn’t stand behind its products and won’t acknowledge that springs on a crib frame should last more than 18 months. My child is less than 25 pounds, and a company should strive to make a product for babies that doesn’t result in safety issues from 18 months of normal wear and tear. My first email to the company received a response and then once I complained after seeing an invoice for the replacement products, several emails from me, all of which were polite, have been ignored. This seems like an otherwise fine product, but when you spend over $350 on a crib, you are hoping that the basic parts will last more than 18 months. Personally I prefer to spend my money with companies that get it and do the right thing by their customers, so I will be looking elsewhere in the future. And I rarely write reviews, but I feel like this is my only way of allowing others to avoid making the same mistake that I did.

Softwood crib with attrocious customer service

This softwood crib came with dents and scratches. In two places, the wood was splintered. We contacted the manufacturer multiple times by email and phone, though we never got a reply. We wish we had bought our grandchild a different brand, and since Babtletto has never acknowledged any communications, we are simply walking away from this terrible purchase. Softwood makes shipping less expensive, sure, and it's a lousy choice for a crib.

Quality Crib w/Minor Design Flaws.

The crib was well packaged for shipping including a ton of foam to protect the pieces. Assembly was easy but does require some time and possibly 2 people to stabilize pieces while applying screws. The design is very nice and modern and is a welcome change from the curved classic style cribs.

The mattress support has multiple height settings with the highest presenting a 6" mattress about a half-foot from the top which makes it easy for a new mother to place their child in the crib.

Our crib did arrive with a scratch of missing paint, not something serious enough to cause a return, but including a touch-up pen would have been a nice touch. We also had to remove a star due to a few strange design choices. First, the screws attaching the sides are large, silver and do not come with cover-up stickers or plugs causing them to be ever-visible and annoying. Second, the product includes warning stickers on the two sides that are large and do NOT come off easily causing them to leave behind pieces of glue and paper which is very unsightly. Finally, the mattress support has black angled brackets that do not allow a mattress skirt to be used easily and they too are visible and clash with the white of the crib.

Overall we are pleased with the purchase, but wish BabyLetto would have considered the minor details for aesthetics and covered up or hid some of the non-white pieces.

There's not much among the reviews that has not been said; so I will address the one variable that I was wondering about when I ordered this...

Is New Zealand Pine closer to Balsa Wood or Oak...? Will it snap like a twig in the wind...?

I'm happy to report that this Pine is not really as soft as I expected (feared). It's not Oak, that's for sure, but I own some Maple furniture and I'd say it's closer to that. I was happily surprised by the relative hardness while being as light as it is.

Nice product at a good price.

The crib is nice. Very nice design. However the quality is basically a step above Ikea. A small step. The screws and other harware will strip, won't always fit perfectly and you'll end up with gaps here and there. If you don't mind that, you'll be fine, but for the price I expected more than Ikea plus.

Update. Removing another star cause the paint comes off stupid easy.

1. It’s beautiful don’t get me wrong. It’s got great ratings an not just on Amazon either! It’s modern an sleek.

2. The customer service is amazing from the seller!!!!

3. It wasn’t hard to put together but definitely needed two people. Also there is two different sized wooden pegs. Which are really kinda hard to tell the difference between. An if you put the wrong ones in the wrong places. The wood cracks easily.

Why I removed stars

1. The part the mattress lays on. The springs face up. It torn not only my mattress itself but also the sheet. It catches on everything it touches cause they point up. Now I have torn mattress...

Update: apparently the spring that came with it was defective. They sent a new one. But I still had to get a new mattress too. Take it all apart an put it back together. Causing some of the black paint to chip.

2. It’s sturdy...don’t get me wrong...but for the price. I expected the wood that was a little thicker, heavier, sturdier....as in it feels kinda like I’m going to crack it just by holding it. Kinda gave a cheaper furniture wood feel to it. But since it’s already build an all our Friends an family with this crib love it. We decided to keep it. But it reminds me of cheap wood from Ikea. Plus I’m sure it will scratch really easily too. So no I would spend this much again for this crib.

3. The warning stickers can’t be removed and are visible. So it’s not very pretty.

Disappointed in the quality for the price.

Beautiful crib when put together. I found that the wood felt cheap. We had pieces break just putting the pegs in that helped support along with the screws. You can’t see the broken wood when the mattress is on but I expected better quality for the price of the crib. Also highly recommend putting it together in whichever room you plan on using it as it doesn’t fit through a standard doorway. We put it together on the carpet in the living room so it wouldn’t get scratched and ended up having to take it half a part to get it back in. It is a great looking crib once assembled, just expected the quality to be better :) I’m sure there are other all white cribs similar in quality and that are cheaper though.

Took a chance ordering online. I’m usually the type to see the product in person before buying. I just went off the good reviews and so far I just love it ! It only took my husband about 30 Min to assemble. We haven’t had our baby yet but I love the look of it in our nursery and it seems of good quality. The only thing I’m having a hard time finding is a crib skirt that fits as most are made much longer. The babyletto ones don’t come in my colour choice. From what I read from others if you don’t have one the black part can show through from under the mattress.

Baby hasn't used it yet as hes still in my tummy but it is a sturdy beautiful looking crib. A few blemishes in the wood but nothing super noticeable. The pictures in the instructions didnt exactly match up with what the wood pieces looked like but my husband was able to set it up in about an hours time! Cant wait for baby to use it! It also didnt have any harsh smells or unpleasant odors when we unboxed. My only concern was the foot prints on the box and tears in the box from the shipping company. Luckily nothing was broken! Its exactly what I was looking for and the babyletto mattress fits perfectly with no gaps. Highly recommend this crib, even though it's a bit pricey

The quality of this crib is great! I am thoroughally satisfied with this purchase and it looks great in our baby's nursery. The only thing I would mention is it requires a bedskirt in the infant position because you can visualize the black mattress frame underneath and you will likely need a teething guard on the crib rail to prevent teeth marks.

Also, a plus, this crib was amazingly easy to assemble. Took my hubby and I about 20-30 mins. Instructions were clear and honestly, there were very minimal steps to take.
