My daughter received this book as a gift. She has enjoyed the book immensely with it's vivid colors, see through page cutouts, & cute animals. Each story is very short - perfect for short attention spans. There is an activity for the child to do after each little story. (i.e. Pretend you're the princess rocking the baby gently in your arms.)
For added interest, I ask my daughter to point out the butterfly, swan, Jesus, apples, etc. I highly recommend this book as a gift for a new mom.

I purchased this book for a friend's new baby and was surprised by the cute handle with raised artwork of animals and flowers. Each page contains a high-level version of fun and important stories in the Old and New Testaments. Also, each story is accompanied by a parent/child activity to increase the learning experience. This is a must buy gift or for your own children.

My husband and I were asked to be godparents to my best friend's first baby. I wanted to give the baby a Bible for her Christening that she could begin enjoying almost immediately. I found just what I was looking for in this first Bible. The pictures are bright, the cutouts add to the uniqueness, the summaries of the stories are short and simple, and the handle is just right for little hands. I was also impressed with the way the writer involves the child and the reader. It's perfect!

This is a very good first bible that I was very impressed with. The small activities suggested on most pages draw the parent in as well as the child. The handle makes it a super book to carry into church. It will go down very well with our bible based carers and baby/toddler group.

I've bought these new & used for grandkids and baby gifts for years. Kids are fascinated with the fastener and handle and "holes," as one called them, that show animals in the background. The board pages are sturdy. I am disappointed that the pages of the one I bought this month are separating from the spine, but I know that Amazon will replace this - if I can get it away from my grandson long enough to return it! Any flaw is a rarity. And in my closet of "things never to throw away" is one that is held together by rubber bands and a plastic covering that belonged to 3 grandsons close in age. It is ragged and falling apart, which is testimony to how much they loved this first take-along Bible. This book should be in the library of every baby before he or she is born!

I bought this for a gift, and ended up re-ordering the other size. Be careful to read the fine print. The small version is going to be great for little hands, but the larger version will be easier for the parents to read. If I had it to do again, I'd only order the larger size book, but the small one has a purpose too.

Our 2 1/2 year old daughter loves this bible. We read her another one at bedtime for several years but wanted to try something different. This one has lots of pictures, actual bible versus to have the child start hearing real versus, and tells the key bible stories. Well constructed (our kid destroys books when given the opportunity and this one has held up so far). Highly recommend.

Jesus Christ is the Lord. However, this book says God raised Jesus from the dead when it should say Jesus raised from the dead, assuming that he is not Him self the Son of God. The last page also says "Jesus said "Let lthe little children come to me" so my little one thinks that happened after He rose from the dead. The kids are wearing inscriptions from today as if this happened now and he is alive now.
It is colorful and playful, but very tricky. Do you want your child to learn wrong?
