I dislike this book intensely. I was hoping that it was much more than it was. I was hoping that the daily information would give me insight on what to expect when it came to my baby's development. It did do that somewhat however the daily information repeats over and over. Some days have some of the exact same information from the day before while sometimes you will find the same information from a month ago. Other times it is telling you what to expect further down the road rather than that day/week/month. I found that developmentally the information was off, especially compared to better books and websites. I used the book to write notes about the day but the book doesn't provide the space to journal daily (which I thought was the whole point!) and there isn't a lot room to write, especially the pages that had three days crammed on them. I also can't stand the fact that it only refers to a baby girl as if everyone in the world only has female babies. It would have been nice if the book was more gender neutral or at least referred to boys some of the time. I would NOT recommend this book.

Love this book! I had the pregnancy journal during my pregnancy and love it which made me decide to give this book a try. You feel in the dates and it keeps track of how many days and weeks old your baby is. It describes physical, cognitive and social-emotional development day by day. It is spot on with accuracy. There is room all through out to make notes and keep track of doctors appointments and other accomplishments. It has the sweetest quotes on every page too. It also list important facts about your baby like temperature of bath water and other medical facts. It has a "did you know" and "check this out" that are helpful too. Would suggest this as a must have for the informative parent who wants to keep track of baby's development. As an RN I highly approve of this book and highly recommend the author who has a PH.D. Be careful of authors and the accuracy of facts.

I found this at Babies R Us during my first pregnancy and wound up loving it. It gives you bits of information day by day. I wrote little notes throughout the book as I was feeling/thinking them; little prayers for my little one as they came to me. I even stuck loose leaf pictures throughout the year in the book (instead of scrapbooking) so it's an all in one spot for baby's first year. I loved it so much I purchased this identical one for my second son.

My new grandson's Baby's First Journal is well underway now. This is the third one I have kept, for my third grandchild. They have lots of good information, and quotes, day by day, and make a lovely gift when finished for the child's first birthday. I love them.

This is such a nice journal. Around once or twice a week it gives you several lines to record tidbits about your baby's life. It also provides a daily summary of different developmental milestones (mental and physical) your baby might be hitting. I also recommend the pregnancy version of this journal. Both would make great gifts!

I like that I can learn about normal baby milestones day by day as I write in this journal for my baby boy. That info sometimes gives me ideas and prompts for what to write about. I used this same journal for my older son, and I hope he enjoys reading it one day when he's grown to see how much I loved him by recording his first year of life. I only wish there were a little more room to write and that every day had lines for writing on instead of every few days.

This journal was gift someone gave my first child. I bought it for my second child because I loved it so much. It's the perfect place to keep notes/milestones before you complete a formal 'baby book' and I love the short and sweet comments to read each day.

We're having twins, so I didn't know to get one or two...ended up getting one to begin with, and am glad. This is by no means a baby book...it's more like a daily guide to development like the title implies, but is not a journal. I also got "What to expect the first year" and think that will probably work better for me. It does have places for "notes" every now and then, but not much space is alloted for writing
