I haven't really heard Bach played until I heard Robert Hill play him on this disk last week, and I've been listening to and playing Bach for 30 years. In my opinion, Robert Hill is the finest performer of this music I have ever heard. Period. This disk and his "Art of Fugue" are absolutely breathtaking. I would give any amount of money to have a set of Mozart piano sonatas by him, or the entire Well Tempered Klavier...or Chopsticks for that matter. You would swear he had "piano forte" volume control on the harpsichord - his ability to express tone and color is simply phenomenal and must be heard to be believed. Why isn't this man better known?
