I'm a personal friend of Burt Bacharach so I knew most of these stories, but I deeply appreciate how thorough and respectful the author was to his legacy. There's nothing bad to say about him. I showed him my copy and he'd not seen all the content. He's not a guy that relives his past in conversation as it's all documented and been told before. But a fan will find this book connects a lot of dots.

Burt is a fantastic artist and anything written about him is worthwhile. The writer of the book, not to be picky, needs an editor. Some of the writing is mangled, hard to follow, and is over run with [],!,etc. The fellow must be a college professor. Buy it anyway.

Dear Bacharach, he is still writing from what I heard. Can't say there is any song I don't like which has been written by Burt and his friend, Hal Davis, who added those words to go with Bert's sublime music. They have made a lot of people happy, and have also given those others permission to cry to their music and lyrics.

You don't hear so much of Burt (Bacharach) but with partner Hal David , he was the star of the legendary Brill Building, had a boatload of hits in a boatload of countries and probably is 'the missing link' between classical composers like Debussy and modern day pop.
