Heaven Hill -- I've been a huge fan of Laramie's books since the beginning and loved this sweet and sexy novella featuring Liam and Denise. You get the see the dirty side of Liam that doesn't often come out and see Liam and Denise reconnect. Plus there are cameos from Sketch, Drew and Tyler that made my emotions go crazy. Throughout the story, I could feel the emotions, the sexiness and the love.
The DuChamps -- I admittedly haven't read this series, though it has been on my To Read list for a while. Finishing this made me push it to the very top. It had just the right amount of drama, sexiness and love. For anyone who fell in love with Ophelia and Vincent in their book, I don't think you will be disappointed. Also, not having read the series, I was still able to enjoy the book, root for the couple to get through their rough patch and hate the people who tried to ruin their happiness.
them grow as individuals and as a family has been nice, seeing them recharge as a couple was beautiful. I loved that Liam paid attention to all of Denise's small wishes, things she would love to see or do but never feeling like she would. Liam goes above and beyond for his family and his club. Back to Basics is truly what the title says, Liam and Denise going back to the basics to
reconnect as friends, lovers, and partners in life. I could easily recommend this novella to anyone who has read Meant to Be, even if your not a fan of Liam or Denise, Ms. Briscoe's work will change your mind.
Remembered was the first work of Ms. Donovan's that I had read, truthfully I had no clue what I was missing out on. However I knew within the first couple of pages, I needed to continue...the story had pulled me in. Ophelia and Vincent are a couple who has fought many battles, including inner demons. Learning to be truthful with each other allowed them to break down barriers long ago built. A nasty, spiteful human being is still not finished causing an uproar within Ophelia and Vincent's relationship. Weathering this storm has made huge leaps in building a solid foundation to their happily-ever-after. I did go back and read the novel, Being Loving You Too Long, because I wanted to know more about the backstory and what they have overcome. Remembered is a fast paced, emotionally charged novella focused on Ophelia and Vincent, remembering whats important.
Back to Basics by Laramie Briscoe 4.5 stars
Children, responsibilities, and work have taken their toll on Liam and Denise Walker and they are hopeful that a long weekend away will get them back on track. I am a sucker for books where a married couple faces a crossroads in their relationship and find a way to get back on track. I'll be honest in that Denise has never been a favorite character of mine in this series, I've always felt she was a bit too self centered, so I was thrilled to see some growth in her. Her concern for her marriage and her children was evident and while I would never with marital problems on anyone it showed that she has matured and is willing to do what it takes to make things right for her and Liam. I also loved how this book showed a sweeter side of Liam; the one that remembers details and the one that wants very much to keep the woman he loves by his side. At times sweet, at times sexy and at times downright raunchy I loved this look into Heaven Hill's original couple.
Remembered by Seraphina Donavan 4 stars
Having no knowledge of these characters or the stories that came before this one, I found it very easy to slip right into Remembered and get caught up in Vincent and Ophelia DuChamps struggle to figure out the problem that has left them both reeling. I felt the emotions were very real as were their responses to the issue at hand and I loved that after some time, perspective and a bit of nudging from a friend or two they were able to see reason and move forward. Old enemies are trying to create havoc, but together they are a formidable pair and prove that together they can overcome any and all obstacles. After reading this short novella, my interest is peaked and I look forward to checking out the other books in this series.
