Love, love, love that the author included the hero's point of view - something I think every romance should have.
Okay, I understand this is fiction but... The hero takes one, maybe two, look(s) at the heroine, and they have maybe ten lines of dialogue, and he decides she's his forever one, and he's going to marry her? Superficial much? I understand many believe in love at first sight, but this is a bit unbelievable. Lust at first sight, definitely. Crush at first sight, yep. Love, not so much. Love after a week is even pushing it for me.
Another of my pet peeves is found in this sexy book. Men do not think of their "junk" as their manhood or their sex. Only once does the hero call it something appropriate.
To me, the way the heroine constantly pushes for sex and more than making out comes off as slutty...needy in a bad way...just off instead of sexy. The hero wants their first time to be all romantic, and she's just...truck bed, barn, wherever, I don't care, let's just do it now.
Needs another last round of proofreading for several small issues throughout the story. Although, the missing leading quotes for the dialogue may be a formatting glitch, so this may not be a proofreading issue but rather something that needs to be addressed with the formatter.
I was provided a copy of this book by the Kindle Scout program.
Ana is heading back home after five years. She's broke, pregnant and jilted by the baby's father. To say the last thing she wants or needs is another man is spot on.
Ryan has been helping Ana's mother and sister make repairs and tend to the ranch. He's been taking a break from his usual life and enjoys living and working the ranch. He was so helpful and kind he endeared himself to Ana's mother Molly. He is like a son to her.
Ryan mets Ana and he knows she's the one, but how do you proceed knowing she may not trust another man?
Throw in an ex who threatens to get custody to spite Ana for the defamation of character she is pursuing against him, a big secret Ryan hasn't been forthright about and you have quite the explosive situation to derail the possible passion.
To say I loved the story just doesn't convey enough feeling. I freaking tore through the pages as if I was personally trying to get closer to my new BBF Ryan.
Still hot and bothered for Ryan, but I'm willing to let go....enjoy him, love them. It is a beautiful story.
