This was a sweet heartwarming easy read story. My heart just hurt for Maddy as a young girl being lied to and forced out of Parker's life only because she was the town drunk's daughter. She did not come from a well-groomed rancher's family, but she was a wonderful person. Ten years later, she'd grown to be a confident hard-working self-assured woman that Parker still loved after all. There was no one who would keep him from being with his family ever again.
Overall, it was an ok read. Maddie struggled through a lot by herself, so I think her relationship with her mother, because of the alcoholism, could have been delved into a bit more. Parker's father was a piece of work. A little humility goes a long way. In the end, we do get our sweet HEA. Its a pleasant enough afternoon read.
