About the Author
By the time he was 26-years-old, Clark Vandeventer was the deputy director of the Reagan Ranch, the historic home of President Ronald Reagan. By the time he was 30, he was a candidate for United States Congress. Clark bet everything on winning but a few months after his failed bid for Congress, he and his young family moved into his in-laws’ garage. That’s when Clark began the process of rebuilding his life by design. Today, Clark and his wife Monica, enjoy a lifestyle of design through patchwork income. When they are not traveling around the world, they split their time between Santa Barbara and Lake Tahoe. You can learn more about lifestyle design and patchwork income by reading Clark’s book, unWorking or visit his blog at FamilyTrek.org. When he’s not writing, skiing, or traveling with his family, Clark is a consultant to nonprofit organizations, training professional staff how to raise big bucks for their causes. The story starts with Election night and there is no clear winner for President, then it winds through all the twists and turns that COULD happen if this situation actually comes to pass in November. There was just enough background information on the 12th Amendment for this book to make sense to an Aussie reader with very little knowledge of the American election process, but not too much as to make this a boring read.
I could almost hear Trump saying some of the things that the author has him saying! The behind the scenes wrangling and promising were quite fascinating. I did guess who would be President about half way through - if only real life could reflect this book we could have an interesting few years ahead of us!
I highly recommend reading this book, particularly BEFORE November 8th. It might even change the way you plan to vote.
