One criticism is that I can only see the key markings when on static yellow, bright blue, or green. The light coming through the keys is very weak so if you still have to look at the keys like I do, and you have older eyes like me, it's less than ideal. The other settings like breathing; I really have no interest in, I just want the static lights so this is not a big deal to me.
The real reason I gave it 1 star and call it crap though: the lights will turn off randomly while I am typing. It's not any particular set of key patterns that does it, sometimes it happens 20 times a day, sometimes it happens a 10 times a day. It happens every day though. Again, for someone that still has to look at the keyboard while typing this makes it really annoying.
If it wasn't for the glitch of the lights turning off I would give it 5 stars because I love everything else about it. I have spend the last 10 months trying to live with it, b(lights just turned off)ut when the lights turned off while logging into my computer this morning I decided to write this revie(lights turned off again)w.
First of all, this keyboard is like a good Irish beer- heavy in a good way. The weight by itself keeps it from sliding while gaming and will also prevent it from creeping while working.
The keys have a nice "click" to them and are very responsive. I notice that I type a little faster on this keyboard than with my previous ones.
The backlighting is a nice touch but there are two caveats- I have to set it to stop the breathing effect every now and then (just one button)- its more annoying than anything esle but a very minor inconveniece. Also, the lettering on the keys are not as visible in the dark- the backlighting kind of washes out the lettering' visibility as opposed to enhancing it. So, if you want to learn to type in a dark room- don't use this keyboard.
I would recommend this for gamers, typists, and students.
Pros:
1. The keys have a really nice sound and feel to them and they aren't too loud, plus they're removable.
2. I like that the keys are raised so dirt and hair can't buildup as easily and it makes it easier to blow out and clean.
3. The construction seems nice and solid.
4. It looks really nice and it has an 10 optional pulse light effect settings and 3 brightness settings plus off setting.
5. The edge of the keyboard is lit and it creates a beautiful ambient glow on my desk which is a main reason why I bought this.
6. It doesn't cost much.
7. Good anti ghosting features for gaming and what not.
8. The grips on the bottom are really grippy.
9. It's a pretty heavy keyboard which is good in my book. It stays in place.
10. Gold plated usb and it has decent shielding w/ magnet ring for whatever that matters.
11. It has a membrane to protect from spills.
Cons:
1. The brightness isn't too great. I think the max brightness should be at least double what it is. Although it should be adequate for most people, I fear after months or a year of use, the leds will dim and become useless for typing.
2. The lighting isn't even around the edge of the keyboard, for example, specifically the blue leds along the bottom edge are very dim to the human eye compared to the red and green along the bottom, although taking a picture can't prove this. Plus the top and side edges are nice and bright while the bottom edge is about only half the brightness as the top.
3. The leds for caps lock, num lock, etc are an extremely annoying bright green. These should be a less bright blue or purple to match the keyboard color scheme. Also because of this they didn't add blue or purple leds to the top right edge which is annoying and that takes away from the ambient glow effect this keyboard creates which also means the colors displayed in the pictures on amazon are not correct.
4. The cord is more on the flimsy side but it's not too bad and that doesn't necessarily mean it's of bad quality or weak and that may just be because it's braided. In my experience, braided cords don't last long.
5. The edges are mainly lit with red, green and blue and some purple with very smal/l hints of other color unlike what they show in the photos.
6. There is almost no yellow at all compared to the seller photos on amazon, it's really just an orange and there isn't much of it.
Conclusion: Overall, for the price I paid (about $45), this is a really solid and nice looking keyboard so I give it 5 stars. I recommend this but be aware the pictures of this here on amazon are not realistic, although like I said it still looks really good.

--Brief overview--
This product is a simple US layout keyboard complete with number pad. The keyboard comes with backlighting which illuminates the keys in several colours so you can see the keys in the dark and the keys themselves are also removable.
--Detailed review--
The keyboard arrived in a simple yet good looking box which provided plenty of protection for the product during delivery. The keyboard comes complete with backlighting, all of the keys have transparent characters so the characters themselves are illuminated making them easy to see even in the dark which makes typing or gaming easy, if you prefer no light, this is also an option which is explained in the user manual provided, there are 4 brightness settings so you can set the light to the amount you are comfortable with, you can also set the lights so they pulse/breathe (Go from dark to bright and back repeatedly if you would prefer that setting). The keys on the keyboard are also removable which is a very useful feature as it makes cleaning the keyboard so much simpler, some of the keys also provide a multimedia function allowing you to do things such as open your emails, control your music and open a webpage quickly and simply. Overall i think this is a very good keyboard with a large number of features which provides a complete, highly functional package
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 14, 2016
To start off, it's pretty damn heavy compared to other keyboards. I was quite surprised with this when I picked up it from the mail.
Secondly, the lights are very bright compared to some keyboards. When I first plugged it in this was also surprising.
Thirdly, I can't help but feel a massive resemblance to the comparatively priced Corsair Raptor K30, probably because of the noise the keys make (they could be rubber dome? I don't know)
The Good
- Bright and vibrant, can be changed and turned off, but at angles you can't see the key lights)
- Although not mechanical, it feels very good to press whether you're gaming or typing.
- Lots of media settings place in the Function keys.
- Heavy and will stay in position
The Okay
- US Layout when I am in the UK, but as a touch typer for over 5 years this doesn't matter.
- The Caps Lock key has a weird symbol instead of other keys (NUM LK and SL)
- The Q key has a "60/S" on top of it. Again, for a touch type this won't matter, but it you look down at it this could be annoying to some
- Logo in the middle of the keyboard when it could be in the top-right corner
The Bad
- The Enter, Space, and Numpad Enter are slightly looser than all other keys and if you lay down a finger on one of them without pressing, there is a noise. This would feel very weird for all users unless you really, really don't care and/or are wearing headphones.
Overall, very nice keyboard for the price and if you are alright with trusting a "third party" (so not like Logitech, Corsair, Razer etc.) you'll find a very nice keyboard with room for 1 tiny improvement.
Pros:
-Very robust and heavy. The keyboard has excellent build quality for the price - it's both heavy and sturdy so it should remain stationary on your desk without the worry of slipping and sliding.
-Bright and equal back-lighting. This ensures that the lights are spread evenly across the keyboard. The lighting goes green, to orange, to red, to pink, to purple, to blue from left to right. The lights are very bright and can be adjusted by pressing FN + Page Up or Page Down - the settings range from 0% (off), 33% (very dim), 66% (dim) to 100% (Full Bright) and you have the option to set a "breathing mode" with ten speeds that causes the lights to pulse depending on the set speed. -
-Compatible with Cherry MX keycaps. If you want to replace the keycaps you have the ability to switch out the keycaps on the board by safely using a tool. However, you cannot switch out the switches (the part that makes mechanical keyboards "click" and "clack") - as they are attached to the board.
Cons:
-Only one colour setting. You can't choose one solid colour on the keyboard - it's either off or all of the colours listed above.
-Mechanical feel - but not mechanical sound. The keyboard has the shape, form and build quality of a mechanical keyboard with the added ability to swap the keycaps - however it doesn't have that "tactile" sound and feel of a standard mechanical keyboard. Typing this review on the keyboard, it sounds very much like a "membrane" keyboard - except a little bit more responsive . However, you won't be getting the distinctive "click" and "clack" sound that you can get from an actual mechanical keyboard.
-Overall:
This keyboard is perfect for those who want a fantastic backlit keyboard which is sturdy, robust and has mechanical look and feel - all while on a budget. The added benefit of being able to change the keycaps means you can customize the keyboard to your liking - as long as the letters, numbers and symbols themselves are translucent!
