Great for Podcasting
The BadAax UM600 condenser mic is ideal for desktop recording of vocals, particularly podcasting. The wide bandwidth and pickup pattern picks up multiple vocal sources during recording, with great frequency response and balance for clarity and intelligibility in your podcasts.
Mic Instruments Too
For desktop recording, the UM600 can also act as a simple instrument mic for recording quick demos, or getting down your musical ideas. Its compact size and ease of use make it a go-to solution for fast and easy recordings.
Shockmount and Mic Clip Included
The included shockmount suspends the microphone and reduces vibration and handling noise. Attach it to any compatible stand, whether a small desktop stand or a full-size stand, and enjoy clear recording with minimal interference.
USB Plug and Play
The USB interface of the UM600 is plug-and-play with almost all PCs and laptops, with no software to install. Simply plug the included UM600 microphone USB cable into any USB 2.0 or 3.0 port and select it as a microphone source in your software settings.

I had previously been recording with the kind of microphone found on a standard gaming headset (the SteelSeries Siberia, in this case). That was great for voice chat while gaming, making phone calls, family teleconferences, etc. It needed to have its gain boosted by about 20 dB in order to be heard properly, which left a noticeable *hiss* sound on any recordings...unacceptable when you're trying to give the best plausible quality to your viewership!
All in all, this is great hardware for anyone looking to get into recording, broadcasting, or singing. You can't beat the price for the value.
Excellent volume levels
USB-ready, plug & play, no fuss
Does not cap out easily -- even relatively loud vocals are translated well
Protective case, shock mount w/ mic clip, and USB cable included with purchase
Solid performance compared to other entry-level microphones
Picks up background noise, such as typing, tapping on the desk, etc.; this is expected, and behaviorally my fault, not the mic's shortcoming
