About the Author
Meghan March has been known to wear camo face paint and tromp around in woods wearing mud-covered boots, all while sporting a perfect manicure. She's also impulsive, easily entertained, and absolutely unapologetic about the fact that she loves to read and write smut. Her past lives include slinging auto parts, selling lingerie, making custom jewelry, and practicing corporate law. Writing books about dirty talking alpha males and the strong, sassy women who bring them to their knees is by far the most fabulous job she's ever had.

What happens when the person you think is only in it for the next notch in his bed post turns out to be the person you need most in your life? This is what we find out in Meghan March's Bad Judgment. Before I tell you all the reasons why you should read this book, let me just tell you, this is one of, if not my very favorite, Frenemies to Lovers books.
This is Ryker and Justine's story and it's fabulous! Our H/h are attending the same law school and he's been trying to get Justine to go out on a date with him since their first year. But she's consistently said no, because Justine does not have time for playboy Ryker in her life. She's on a scholarship and being a lawyer is all she's ever wanted to be. Ryker on the other hand, comes from a life of privilege that on the outside looks perfect. But as we all know, perception is not necessarily reality.
Ryker and Justine are like oil and water but boy do they have some chemistry that's just bubbling below the surface. I loved how Justine's inner thoughts would constantly interrupt her train of thought when she was interacting with Ryker. Especially given the rumors surrounding a certain part of Ryker's anatomy....
"I'm not interested in anything that has to do with Ryker Grant, or his p*n*s. No, really, I'm not."
This is just one of the many lines that caused me to chuckle out loud from the genius brain that is Meghan March. But as we soon find out, Ryker's persistency pays off because due to some unforeseen circumstances Justine, has to accept Ryker's offer of help but when it doesn't go as planned, Justine isn't so apt to forgive.
Justine is one of these women that when I was reading the book I loved immediately. She's full of fire and doesn't let anyone walk all over her. She's this way because of her upbringing and I so admired her independence, intelligence and unwillingness to be a victim, which she easily could have been. Thanks to her friend Merica, who by the way, is the kind of best friend we all want in our lives, Justine has someone to look out for her in every possible way. Even bringing her out of her shell just a little so she can have some fun when all she wants to do is study... and this fun leads to a very interesting proposition by Ryker...so when Justine's circumstances change quite dramatically, she's willing to do whatever it takes to continue in her goal of being a lawyer and this leads us to where things get hot and dirty between our H/h. The innuendos that fly between Justine and Ryker are off the charts!!! They lead to some very interesting conversations that's for sure...
"You think about me when you touch yourself, don't you? You can plead the Fifth if you need to."
I almost spit my water out with this one! When these two finally get down to it, it's so steamy and sizzling. Ryker is one of the best dirty talkers I've read, which doesn't surprise me because I can always count on Ms. March for delivering in this capacity!
I've never been a girl for dirty talk, or so I thought, but when Ryker voices those rumbling words in the darkness of this room, my nipples harden and I buck harder against him."
As these two grow closer and closer and we get near the point that things to start happen and situations are explained, and past events come to light, I was on the edge of my seat because I wanted Justine to find her happily ever after especially given the more her background comes to light. But Ryker, being a guy, doesn't necessarily do what he should to get to the bottom of things. I didn't necessarily fault him for this either. On the surface, it looked bad, but can he get out of his own way to get the woman that is his destiny back? That's the question. What else can happen between these two that is a barrier to their HEA? There's so much to this story that once I went in there was no way I was stopping until I got the answers to these questions and so many more.
When it's all said and done, I loved every single word and page of this book and Ms. March has definitely delivered another book that will be one that I'll read again and again.
like so many enemies-to-lovers justine and ryker come from opposite sides of the track. ryker was born with a silver spoon, the son of a state supreme court justice and high profile attorney who comes from money. justine is the daughter of two con artists who destroyed her credit by stealing her identity while she was still in diapers. her grandfather raised her, and what little income she has from his estate was depleted by the time it came to pay for law school.
when the school decides to cut their merit scholarship program, justine is desperate. and when ryker's father offers to pay her tuition in exchange for her help in getting ryker to refocus on his studies, she has no choice but accept his offer. the relationship that grows between justine and ryker as they spend time together is full of sexy chemistry but also they are perfectly matched. for all their differences they both are really smart. ryker may be unsure of his future in law, but justine knows exactly how she wants to make a difference.
of course both justine and ryker are keeping some secrets from each other, and like secrets tend to do in romance novels, things blow up in time for the third act. luckily, nothing keeps them apart for too long, though some of the twists involving the secrets ryker was keeping were both telegraphed and didn't exactly work for me.
at one point when they are on the outs, ryker gets into a car accident, the events that happen before sort of make sense, but then what happens afterwards made me wonder at certain points whether or not he had been drugged or if something more sinister was happening. and then the fallout from that didn't seem severe enough. it's not like i wanted ryker to be caught with a dui and ruining his life, but why even start down that road? was it supposed to help justine understand some of ryker's other choices? if it was, it didn't do that all that well.
but since things do get resolved and a sweet epilogue ties things up nicely, and i just loved ryker the end result is that i have mostly good feelings about this story.
What happens when deals are made and Justine’s tuition gets paid? Justine gets to spend more time with Ryker, will she be able to avoid the charming sexy man? I wouldn’t be able to! A new friendship is formed as well as a real connection.
“I’ll just get out of here so you guys can whip ’em out and measure them.”
Bad Judgment is fun, sexy and swoony all around. I loved the characters, the drama and all of the sexual tension! Ms. March hooks us from the start in the little roller coaster of a ride! Ryker may look like a jerk at first but he shows his true colors later and we see what an amazing man he really is. He’s the ultimate book boyfriend that had me drooling and swooning! 4.5 addictive stars!
