“Bad Romeo delivers perfect romance―emotional, edgy, and illicit. Every page is charged with off-the-charts chemistry. Don’t miss this exciting debut. ” ―M. Pierce, bestselling author of the Night Owl Trilogy
“I absolutely LOVED this book. This is a romance that you feel with all your heart and soul. Ethan and Cassie's chemistry was off-the-charts and their connection so intense that it kept my heart racing the whole way through. The writing captured the emotional intensity of their epic love while balancing it out with hilarious scenes that had me laughing out loud, and other scenes that had me fanning myself from the hotness. It was the perfect balance! Absolutely freaking ADORED it. And I can't recommend it highly enough.” ―Aesta's Book Blog (5 Stars)
“I loved reading this book. The heroine is infused with the perfect amount of believable hopefulness and charm. She is fully-fleshed out and possesses a sense of humor that is wry and witty…And the hero is perfectly drawn. The reader may want to throttle him for a sizable portion of the text. They will equally want to make out with him. And that dichotomy is perfect for a New Adult hero. He is wonderful and believably bad for her in all the best ways.” ―Bibliopunkk (5 out of 5 stars)
“A 100% MUSTREAD. There's drama, angst, humor, and sexy, sexy romance. And that ending… GAH! I wholeheartedly recommend Bad Romeo o those who enjoy contemporary romance with some angst, but the promise of humor and swoons to smooth the way.” ―We So Nerdy
“It's part second chance romance, part friends to lovers and part antagonistic romance. The mixture is straight-up perfect. Especially when you add in all the sexual tension. And my god, there was sexual tension.” ―Kimberly Fay Reads
“There were times I was swooning and times I was fuming with these two characters through their love-hate-love relationship, and as the plot was building, so was my heart-rate. I swooned, I laughed, and I had those sweet chills up my spine from the intensity of two lovers approaching a second chance at making things right.” ―Romantic Reading Escapes
“WOW! This book! There isn't a single thing I didn't like about this amazing, fantastic read. An outstanding debut!” ―Beauty and the Beastly Books
“With phenomenal writing, scorching chemistry and a great plot, Bad Romeo is easily one of the best contemporary romances I have ever read! The attraction between the protagonists is so palpable, I could almost taste it. If you like unforgettable romance stories, believe me, you do not want to miss this one!” ―Reading Is My Breathing
“With Broken Juliet, Leisa Rayven meets and exceeds the high bar she set in Bad Romeo. It has a fair share of angst and heartbreak, but the dialogue is sprinkled with sharp, witty, absolutely hilarious banter, which assists in giving dimension to the story. Bad Romeo concluded with a cliffhanger, but happily, Broken Juliet ties off the story arcs in fine fashion, leaving this reader very satisfied. What Ethan does to win Cassie back is definitely sigh-worthy - he proves he's the good Romeo she deserves. ;) If you enjoy a heartwarming unique New Adult romance, Broken Juliet is highly recommended. This book and Bad Romeo are keepers.” ―USA TODAY Happily Ever After blog
“The chemistry between Cassie and Ethan is red-hot in this contemporary new adult romance, and Rayven certainly has a way with dialogue.” ―Booklist

Bad Romeo was utterly fantastic. The writing was such a pleasant and hilarious surprise, I was laughing out loud by the third page, and I am not an LOL kind of gal. Believable dialogue is a HUGE thing for me when reading a book; if the characters don’t interact realistically or well, the entire book is crap in my opinion-- It doesn’t matter how many important issues you try to tackle. Cassie and Ethan’s banter was flat-out hilarious in the best kind of fast-paced push-and-pull way. Unlike other books, the humor seemed effortless and not like the author was waiting for a huge laugh or round of applause at the punchline. This coupled with Cassie’s relatable and witty narration had Bad Romeo reading like a movie you could see very clearly in your mind, which makes sense as Leisa Rayven is an actress and playwright.
Not only were Cassie and Ethan intriguing in their own right as main characters, their combined chemistry was off the charts. Never have I been so wound up by two people not having sex. I don’t personally care for an abundance of sexy time in my books, but by the middle of Bad Romeo I was as anxious for Cassie to lose her virginity as Cassie was…it’s less creepy than it sounds, trust me.
The role reversal of the two in the past vs. present chapters is as intriguing as it is poetic. Yes, we didn’t get a lot of insight as to what exactly made present-day Cassie so wary and jaded where past Cassie was open-hearted and free with her love but guess what, complainers? It’s the first installment of a series! Isn’t that the point of a first book? To tease the second? Is this the first book series you’ve ever read? Cool your jets and wait until April 28 for your questions to be answered.
Do not listen to the haters. Bad Romeo is wonderful. I am awaiting Broken Juliet with the bated breath I’m sure Leisa Rayven intended and will, without a doubt, one-click anything else she writes.
Okay WOW!! This book is absolutely jam-packed with sexual tension. And I absolutely loved it!!! Very much deserving of a 5 star rating. It’s one of those ‘I-hate-you-but-I-love-you’ type of love stories told in the best way possible. The author has a wonderful way with words as she mixes the perfect amount of tension, humour, love, amazing chemistry and just puts it all together to create a recipe for my first top read for 2015. A wonderful second-chance romance with a moody, broody, ‘I-just-want-to-jump-through-my-kindle-and-hit-the-hero-over-the-head’ male character and a female lead that I fell in love with.
The story follows Cassie, a stage actress who is cast in the Broadway remake of Romeo and Juliet and is casted along side Ethan Holt, the man she has always been in love with, who broke her heart into smithereens. After six years apart, Cassie can’t forget about their painful past, but their chemistry is so intense that all her feelings come flooding back with a simple glance. Ethan knows how badly he hurt her, but uses this second chance to try and win her over, proving once and for all that he has in fact, changed.
“Cassie, I felt like a ghost while I was away from you. I was. Now, I want to feel real again.”
The story switches from past to present, filling us in on small parts of their lives at two different times. It’s written in a way that when we are in the past, we get a glimpse of Cassie trying to convince Ethan why they should be together and Ethan doing all he can to keep her at arms length, knowing that if things got closer to that relationship ‘line’, it will all fall apart. When we go back to the present, it’s the opposite. Ethan is the one who is trying to win Cassie over, and Cassie does her best to protect her heart that he once shattered. <– I really loved that about this book!
“…but the only consistent thing about him is his unpredictability.”
There was so much I loved about this book. Every word said between both characters was felt in my soul. Their connection was beyond anything I have felt in a story for a really long time and I just took in everything I could. The banter between the characters was awesome. They really knew how to get under each others skin. I need to point out something really important for you guys, this book ends in a ‘kind-of’ cliffhanger. I personally hate cliffhangers so I was a little hesitant to start this book, knowing that book #2 was still a little while away, but I can honestly say that the way the book ended – for me – has left me more excited than depressed. It leaves you in a good place of wanting more, excited to see where their relationship will go to next. There are so many unanswered questions in book #1 but I can honestly tell you that you will feel satisfied regardless. Leisa Rayven is an incredibly talented author and you just feel that she knows what she’s doing. And I cannot wait to get my hands on Broken Juliet (which you can pre-order here). Ethan and Cassie’s story will conclude in book #2, but there will be another book in the Starcrossed series that will be about Ethan’s sister, who you meet in Bad Romeo.
Seriously, this book is incredible. I recommend it to everyone and I know we are only a few weeks into 2015, but I can see this series being one of my favourites of the year. 5++ stars!!!
