I enjoyed learning about the history of high heels and the psychology behind foot fetishes. She also discusses some aspects of feminism as it relates to the wearing of high heels. This is book is fun, witty and very informative.
There is a chapter devoted to foot problems and how to deal with them. The medical perspective is very helpful. There are practical suggestions for choosing the right kind of footwear-heels included, just not super-high ones! There is also a list of brands to explore at the back of the book. You can preserve the health of your feet and still wear good-looking shoes!
This book has enhanced the way I look at shoes; and has improved my appreciation of the process of footwear selection.
Highly recommend this great, friendly-toned book to anyone who wishes to learn about the history, psychology, and practical use of our footwear.
Thanks for writing this book!
