The emotional roller coaster this author brings you on will leave you breathless wanting more. The emotions she brings to her characters will make you both love and hate them.
An intoxicating tale of deceit, intrigue, and passion with an incredible story of love. There are many twists and turns that you won't see coming. It's one book that will forever remain in my heart.
Tristan Vega....Well, I can't claim him because a friend of mine has already and she's a little scary when she's gets territorial, but WOW! Let's just say you'll want him making your cookies!

Somewhere in the middle though I started to get annoyed with all the fights, and jealousy, and the extreme obsessive behavior. It was scary how caught she was in him, and him in return. It's unhealthy, I almost closed the book because of it. I can't imagine being so overly altered by someone else that you start to change who you are. Oh wait I can I've done it all my life, but having it written down, smack dab staring me in the face, it made me realize how crazy it is. Once I realized that I had to stick with it.
The end was bittersweet. I didn't see it coming, but quickly got my equilibrium. Because really what else was going to bring Danika out of her tunnel vision, and Tristan to jump that last hurtle. It was just a shame such a great character had to pay for the ending that needed to happen.
I'm shocked though that there are two more books. What in the world could the author possible do to these characters that hasn't already been done? I'm not sure If I'm willing to find out. She might jerk my tear ducts harder this time and actually have me crying....
My other big qualm is that Danika has no life outside of Tristan - she was actually, in my view, better as a person before she got involved with him. But one wink from him and the suggestion that she "live a little", she begins to party every night, drinking like crazy, getting involved with pretty questionable people, staying up till dawn and somehow magically holding her day job as a nanny to two young children, who's parents don't seem to mind Danika's poor work ethic and her own self-identified "flakiness".
R.K. Lilly's writing is imaginative and concise. I had no trouble getting into the story, but multiple elements turned me way off. I understand that rocker/bad boy alpha romances are many people's cup of tea, but apparently it's just not mine!
This is the love story of Tristan and Danika. Danika lives where she works because she is the live-in nanny of two young boys. Tristan comes to stay with the family while his apartment is being worked on. Plus, Jerry (Danika's boss) was hired by Trstan to help promote his band. They become fast friends but there is an undeniable attraction between the two of them. Neither wants to enter into a relationship because they both have scars from the past that have made them commitment phobic. So they settle for friendship. They enjoy witty batter and competition between the two of them. Can they stick with the agreement to be just friends, no benefits, or will their attraction be too strong to deny?
There are many aspects to this book. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster. There are lots of laughs, angst, sexy scenes, and some tough times. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read the next one. FYI....this does end in a cliffhanger, but it is worth the read!
