The 20/20 provides the professional illustrator with an airbrush capable of producing the ultimate in fine line detail. It is more precise, more comfortable, and more reliable than any competitor. When fine line detail or the finest paint atomization for a “soft” spray pattern is required, SOTAR is the only choice. Finely pigmented properly reduced paints, water colors, inks, dyes, and low viscosity acrylics can be sprayed with the 20/20. The elongated body maintains an efficient distance between trigger and paint reservoir. The trigger and back lever assemble easily thanks to our innovative “track and winged” design. The MODEL 2020-2F has a mounted 1/12 ounce color cup which allows for extended use before having to add color. The fine (black) needle / nozzle will spray a "hair” line to 3/4 inch (19 millimeter) spray pattern. Kit includes SOTAR 2020-2F with an extra fine needle. Proudly made in the USA.

Word of advice: The Badger hose connector is proprietary and is really small. To make things easier for you, I recommend the Badger 51-042 QD Coupler. It is a quick release adapter for easier cleaning and has a built in 1/4 inch hose adapter (just unscrew the Badger fitting) to fit most standard hoses and compressors. Definitely worth the price.
I will note, despite thinning them a lot, and using various combinations of thinner and retarder medium, I did have lots of "spatter" problems with Humbrol Acrylics. I think maybe the pigment of those is just not "fine" enough for Sotar regardless of thinned consistency. The included alternative needle/cap combo might remedy this, but I didn't try it yet.
A word on the issue of authenticity of the product. I have looked over the package and the unit as carefully as I think anyone can expect and I find no sign that this is a "knockoff" product; so don't let the low price fool you. My unit came with the foam cutout box and the extra needle with wrench and extra crown cap. Also included were the warranty registration card addressed to Badger and the assembler signature page with parts list that other reviews have mentioned. It's quite possible these units are refurbished, however; as I did find some small dried paint inside the cup. Also the trigger action and spring needed a couple of drops of oil. After that, everything was smooth and ready to go.
My main concern was that this would be a refurbished brush as many reviews posted over the last 2 years have said they got clearly used brushes. When I purchased this last week it was being offered by Amazon itself and not a different retailer. It showed up in only 2 days as I live quite close to a fulfillment center.
The airbrush came in the standard heavy cardstock box(as all Sotar brushes do) which was shrinkwrapped. The brush itself and extra parts were also shrinkwrapped again so that they did not come loose from the foam insert in the box which I felt was a nice touch. The brush has no cosmetic flaws that I can see, and no paint dried and hiding in nooks and crannies as previous buyers have reported. It did have a thin oily layer on the metal, but that doesn't seem all that strange as precision metal items are oiled to prevent oxidation and corrosion when first manufactured. This is likely because the brush has the black anodized finish instead of being nickel chrome plated like standard airbrushes. The paperwork does not list a serial number for the brush but I don't know how well Badger keeps up on serializing them, especially if Amazon is doing large bulk orders to offer these discounts on them. That's the only "red flag" I'd say I have about the brush being new. Not a single scratch on it. I will update this review after trying it out.
