***update*** nearly a year and so far I've logged 812.7 miles. Aside from replacing my cargo rack (due to me stripping the bolts on the previous one) and tightening the the battery mount occasionally there have been no issues with the hardware. White Lightening bike cleaner and lubricant I found works best for chain and gear maintenance. My top speed has been as high as 27.5 with no wind. The Panasonic lithium-ion battery has been fantastic averaging about 30 miles per charge on medium pedal assist. The bike has been all that and a bag of sunshine. I use it to commute to work at about 6 miles round trip, 12 when I go home for lunch. Most people don't know its an electric bike until I scale a grass hill with no effort whatsoever. I plan on building another mid drive for my girlfriend this spring and perhaps a 1000watt Road bike for myself.
I ride primarily off-road, so I replaced the stock chainring with a 46 tooth Bling Ring, allowing for lower gearing and all nine cogs. The controller allows power assist levels 1-9, but riding off-road i've only used level 4. Power is immediate, so when you start pedaling, you'd better be ready to go. This setup is not for the beginning trail rider.
The best solution is to look for another brand. Unless if you are so good at electronics and you know how to replace the MOSFET's and fix the build-in controller. How much the manufacturer cares if you ever encounter any problem? Forger it. Don't dream someone will help you. No quality, no warranty, no help. Not everyone is willing to start learning advanced electronics just because they wish to have an electric bicycle.
And if anyone can help, may I ask for a help in any link for recommended MOSFET's and how to replace them? Thank you.
