From the Manufacturer
If you want a winter boot that is going to perform in the harshest conditions as well as provide warm, toasty feet down to -40 degrees Fahrenheit, then do yourself a favor and pick up a pair of the Baffin Arctic boots. At first glance, you may think that the Arctic is just another winter boot but other than the classic styling, that is where the similarities end...
THE BAFFIN INNER BOOT
The heart and soul of a Baffin boot begins with its multi-layer foam based removable inner boot. Foam not only acts as an excellent insulator, but it also hugs the foot in a way that provides a much better and improved fit over a more traditional material like felt. Coupled with the foam, Baffin also adds multiple moisture wicking and thermal layers that manage moisture and retain heat. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, this inner boot keeps the overall width and profile of the boot narrower while also reducing the overall weight of the boot substantially. This leads to longer lasting, all-day comfort.
THE BENEFITS OF BAFFIN'S BASE AND UPPER
Attention to detail is a Baffin specialty and the Arctic boot is no exception. All Baffin rubber bases use cold chamber tested rubber compounds that won't freeze or crack and are tested down to -50 degrees celsius for 50,000 flexes. The upper boot is made using a very durable 900 Denier nylon and is waterproof treated to keep the elements out.

1 Year Update:
These boots are still warm, however: They are not completely waterproof, only the lower rubber part. After light use over the period of a year the stitching attaching the upper began to come out and they started to leak. I emailed to company and they told me that the upper portion of the boot wasn't waterproof and refused to offer a repair or replacement of any kind. I stitched them up myself and applied Gorilla glue to the seams and it seems to be working. They are very warm, and with a more customer friendly company and little higher quality build, I would buy another; but due to the fact that the next pair could fall apart with no possible recourse, I will be purchasing my next pair from another company.
This one is snug, but the foot goes in easily and comes out easily. Draw strings on top to help keep a lot of snow from falling in if you're outside playing in the white stuff, can snug it up on top of the foot if you need, and they are surprisingly comfortable. Feel very good and solid when walking around in them, and enough insulation to keep the feet from freezing.
So far, these are the best snow boots I've found in 25 years of adulthood...

Good overall... I just use for playing outside in the snow with my kids and shoveling snow. They are probably too big to use for a long trek although any boot this high and... Read morePublished 24 days ago by Economises
