Concept of "convertible backpack" doesn't work

Lovely little bag, perfect size, very well made. However the concept of "convertible backpack" doesn't work. The straps are narrow and uncomfortable, you cannot adjust them because of the zipper on each side of the strap. Consequently, it rides very low on back, closer to waist. That makes it hard on your lower back and uncomfortable. They'd be better off designing a proper little backpack with shoulder straps placed further apart and adjustable.

This is a wonderful backpack. The security features are top-notch with the slash resistant panels. It is very versatile in that it can go from one strap to two straps by zipping it together. The zipper and zipper track are very smooth and easy to operate. I love the clutch that goes with it. It fits all my needed essentials. It is a super cute, neutral backpack that deters people from taking interest in stealing your backpack! I highly recommend this product.

I had been looking for a practical, yet stylish, backpack for some time. My friend purchased the red version of this Baggalini, and I liked the style, size, design. So, the next day I bought the black and white bag, and I like it a lot. It’s comfortable and easy to carry, and I’m able to retrieve items quickly and without a hassle.
Anti-theft features are appreciated, as are an indication of the thought and consideration going into this overall design.
My only negative comment has to do with the straps. The backpack rests somewhat lower than I like but there’s only so much adjustment I can achieve [for my 5’6” body] given the design.

Comfortable to wear. I got the grey and its a nice two tone, more like a purse. I would have liked it a little bigger but it holds more than it looks like it will. I especially like the “inside” zipper that is up against my back, which is where I had my wallet and passport without fear of pickpockets getting it. Lightweight and fits against your back. The anti theft zippers, mesh, and strap cabling are what drew me to this backpack. I got it specifically for a trip to Europe, where pickpockets are prevalent particularly in the larger cities. With thus backpack I had no worries about getting robbed. Plus it’s attractive, so you don’t feel like you’re going camping while you wear it. Definitely would recommend it if you want to be hands free and don’t want a purse pulling on your shoulder or banging against your side.

Oh Baggallini Convertible Backpack, where have you been all my life? I have dallied with other travel bags and I have never been completely satisfied. Some were too heavy, some were too small, some had too many confusing compartments, but you Baggallini are just right! I guess it is true: you have to tote a lot of bags before you find your prince. Your principal travel purse that is!

But enough of the fairy tales. This bag is the real deal! I researched a lot of convertible backpacks once I decided that was the style that would bring me the most happiness. I chose this bag because of the size. Other bags were very large as well as being thick in width. I wanted a bag that would lay close to my back. I also wanted one that was small enough to fit into the very small suitcase that I use as my second carry-on item on airplanes. In other words, I wanted it to fit into the already packed bag that fits under “the seat in front of you.” It works! Also, some bags look like they hang down too far on your back. The bottom of this bag hits at my waist, which is perfect for me. I am 5’ 5” and I have the straps as short as they will go.

The Baggallini has just the right number of pockets and compartments. It seems like a lot of thought went into this product. There is a large zipper compartment on the front of the purse and another zipper compartment on the back which also has a small pocket for a cell phone and a hole for earbuds. The interior has one large zipper pocket that is RFID blocking. Also in the interior is a detachable wristlet with three slots for credit cards. Money and a cell phone would easily fit in it. The wristlet is also RFID blocking. Two of the zippers use the same anti-theft technology as Travelon bags.

The strap of the bag, which is at the back, can go over your shoulder. It does not work as a cross-body. At least it does not for me and my heaving bosoms. A zipper in the middle of the strap makes the bag easily convert to a backpack. I used it almost exclusively as a backpack and was very pleased. The length of the straps is very easy to adjust and then they stay well in place. Zipping and unzipping the straps is also a breeze. I purchased the black tweed bag with the red contrast color. It is not showing any dirt from my recent trip and the material looks easy to spot clean. The hardware looks like brushed nickel to me.

Most importantly, what fits in this bag? I have a full-size but flat wallet, cell phone, glasses and case, sunglasses and case, passport in a case, keys, nail file, and chap stick as my travel basics. This kept the bag lightweight and with a flatter profile. I also had ample room for more stuff! During a shopping trip, I was able to carry some small bags in my Baggallini. I really love this bag. It is also reasonably priced for a well made bag with a lot of thoughtful features. In summary, I think that Baggallini and I are going to live happily ever after!

I wasn't sure at first about the fabric outside because it is so different from canvas or leather. The color grey is classic and the bag will go with everything while traveling. I wish the little zip wallet had more card slots--it only has 3. This wallet can hook inside the bag, so you can take it out without fear of losing it/dropping it. It fits snugly on the mid back and swings easily front or back for quick access and hands free movement. It could fit a 16 oz water bottle inside if you need to carry water. Plenty of room for travel essentials--comb, make up bag. Cel fits nicely in the back zippered pocket inside a satiny pocket. This back area could hold passport, tickets, cash, etc. I put my humongous sunglass case in the front pocket but it doesn't bulge out. I wish they made this model in leather. Just got it but it seems well made and the zippers are easy to use.

Great little travel backpack. Recently went on a bus tour and this bag held everything nicely without bulk in the both storage of area inside the bus and on the plane trip. Was worried how my kindle 7" tablet would fit with my other travel essentials....no problem...it fit nicely inside the pack. The extra protection of anti theft was worth the added price as I wore this mostly on my back. The convertible strap was nice for when I did want to carry like a shoulder bag.
