This is a good saw, especially for the price. Fits great in my tote tool box. Handle works fine for my use, but if I had a ton of sawing to do I might go with a more expensive padded one. (Actually, if I'm sawing a lot, I use a power saw so no big deal).

This saw has a greater number of smaller teeth and cuts less aggressively, commonly known as a crosscut saw. It is best for making precision cuts and sawing wood across the grain. If you use it to cut wood along the grain, it works fine but will be slower. Crosscut saws tend to bind sometimes cutting tree limbs, but do work.

There are other saws that have fewer and larger teeth that cut more aggressively, commonly known as rip saws. They are best for sawing wood along the grain. If you try and use a rip saw to crosscut, the saw will jump around (sometimes ridiculously so) and leave a very rough/wide cut. Rip saws are a little better than crosscuts for tree limbs. But you are probably better off to buy a tree saw, with its super aggressive larger teeth.

If you can only have one saw, get a crosscut as they will cut more types of material well, though admittedly slower.

My students use this to cut down thin plywood into sizes small enough to work with on the bandsaw or scroll saw. It works, there's nothing really special about it, but if you need a fine tooth panel saw, this is a good buy.

It has very small, close together teeth with a very narrow set, so it is great for the precision work that it is made for, but don't even think about using it for pruning or cutting large chunks of wood. I have owned one for many years, and it only lost its sharpness when I accidentally cut into a metal pipe that was hidden inside a plastic one. so when I found the exact same one for sale here I snapped it up double quick. I have had the new one about a year now, and it is everything the old one was (and still is, it just doesnt have any teeth in the center)..:(

I bought this saw because I have had another and have used it for years and wanted a spare. It makes very fine smooth cuts on wood and plastics. I would recommend this saw to others.

This saw is great for precission cutting. Stays sharp and cuts straight. What more can you ask of a saw?
