My first introduction to Bailey and Love Short Practice of Surgery was in my years as a medical school more than 60 years ago. It had been my guide and companion ever since during my career as a surgeon. I always obtained the most recent editions as they came along. Now that I am retired and in my 80's I still have great pleasure reading this book and marvel at the progress and advances made in surgery and other branches of medicine.
