I've a thin yoga mat with printed patterns from same company that's very durable, but doesn't provide support to knees during yoga on a hardwood floor. This one is different material, with some soft thickness that's perfect! The material doesn't look as durable as the other one but will see over time. It's definitely good for price.

I have used this mat numerous times since I bought it and I am confident in saying that it has met my needs perfectly. While most seem to like this mat a lot, some have noted its drawbacks. Let me begin by specifying my needs and how the mat meets them.

First, I only use my mat in my apartment. My flooring is entirely wood, and seeing that I sometimes struggle with lower back pain, the fluffiness of this mat was what instantly appealed to me. It has been incredibly comfortable to use to the point I could sleep on it. Second, I do not work out with shoes on. I could see how wearing shoes on the mat could tear up the foam. I have had zero problems with the foam breaking. Third, I do not do anything too crazy on the mat, which might contribute to its longevity. I basically do basic yoga, moderate calisthenics/aerobics and weightlifting/strength training on my mat. I do not find that the thickness causes stability issues whatsoever, but again I am not doing anything too out there. Another perk of the mat is that the thickness also helps prevent noise from setting down weights so that I do not bother my neighbor below me. Finally, it is easy to roll up and store, and has a nice carry strap.

That being said, this mat may not be for everyone. It can get a tiny bit slippery every once in awhile. My wife's mat is less plush but has better grip. For me, I find it a good tradeoff, but it really depends on what your needs are as a user. If you take it outside a lot, wear shoes while using it, or do very intense exercise on the mat, I could see it not lasting that long due to wear and tear. But if you are like me who needs the extra support on wood floors for moderate exercise, this mat will do wonders for you.
