This book was so good, I could not put it down, I kept reading late into the night because I needed to know how things worked out for
Asher and Dahlia
Dahlia has issues from her childhood, Her mom is a drunk who has never shown her any love, She has been married multiple times and each one was worse then the last, Dahlia has had to take care of herself her whole life, One day while in high school Ash the gorgeous bad boy of the school comes up to her and offers her his lunch because he has noticed that she has had nothing to eat for the last 3 days. Of course Dahlia feels this is just another mean joke because no one cares about her. Ash and Dahlia become close friends and then more, The day before she is to leave for college Dahlia gives Ash her virginity. Ash asks he to please stay and to marry him she runs hard and fast.
4 years later Dahlia has come home, where she had hoped to never be again. When she goes to the local machanic shop to have her car looked at she sees Ash the boy has grown into a gorgeous man, Her heart hurts because she knows he was the only true love she will ever know but he deserved so much better the trailer trash.
This story shows how both Ash and Dahlia grow up and realize that they are meant for each other. Ash has to realize that Dahlia is her own woman and Dahlia has to realize that Ash does love her and she deserves that love.
Heroine had a rough life, the hero was pretty much the only person who was kind to her but as much as she cared about him she bolted as soon as she was legal. Things didn't work out and she comes crawling back to her old town and life years late blah blah you get the idea.
Like I said, it was a nice story but nothing to really write home about. Nothing really pulled me in or stood out to make it a five star read for me but since it was mostly entertaining and well written I feel 4 stars about covers it.
1.) Cheating? Nope.
2.) Cliffhanger? No.
3.) HEA (Happily Ever After)? Yep.
4.) Violence? There's no sexual assault in the book but the child molestation is discussed so if you're insanely sensitive there you go. It doesn't need a trigger warning or anything though. It's not a violent or graphic book - I'd say you're safe.
5.) Writing/Grammar? It was good, well written and comfortable.
6.) Sexual content? Some. Not too much, pretty hot, vanilla, nothing kinky etc.
7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? Nah.
8.) POV? Dual
What, a sweet yet emotionally frustrating second chance romance! Asher is such an adorable overly pestery alpha male! I could not help but root for him! One sitting, cover to cover read with a wonderful HEA! If you enjoy second chance romances with a bit of frustrating angst, this might be for you!
I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
Dahlia struggled all her life living with a mother who is the trailer trash town drunk. Despite the fact that she study hard and got good grades in high school while working a,part time job, people still judge her because of this. She doesn't trust anybody because Nobody was nice to her except for Asher. They were an item in high school but she pushed him away when she left and no communication. Now that she's back Asher won't let her go again. Can they move forward toward the future instead of looking back to the past? A good read. The intimate scenes are really good. I enjoyed reading this book. I received this advanced reader copy voluntarily in exchange for am honest review.
