Specifically searched for "freezer safe 32 oz Mason Jars. This product came up. Per the description: freeze up to 1 year,". I made 12 quart of organic spaghetti sauce to freeze. Organic grass fed beef, organic tomatoes, onions, peppers, spices. Pretty expensive $ and time consuming. I ended up with a freezer full of broken glass and frozen tomato sauce. I couldn't even return it in that shape. Really really annoyed!!!

I want an exchange for these lids and bands. As shown in the pictures, all of the lids are very rusty. If you need more pictures, I am able to upload more. I am not able to store food in the jars because rust is toxic and dangerous to consume. These jars with lids and bands are still under warranty. I have purchased them a few months ago. I would like to request and exchange for these lids and bands.

NOT FREEZER SAFE!

These are NOT freezer safe. I make homemade broth and freeze it all the time in Ball quart and pint mason jars. These are the ONLY ones that have ever exploded in my freezer. I cool the broth on the counter for several hours, then 24 hours in the fridge, then they go in the freezer, so this is NOT user error - I'm not putting hot jars in the freezer. This is total BS, not only have I lost like $20 worth of these jars, I've lost a whole bunch of homemade bone broth! I'm not happy at all and I would absolutely not recommend these jars.

So disappointed. I got these specifically to freeze soups and stews. I put two in the freezer yesterday and one is already broken. I'm hoping I can salvage my chili!! Second one is still okay but now I'm skeptical now. I left plenty of head room and they were thoroughly cooled before going into freezer. I don't know what I did wrong or if these jars are falsely labeled.

This shipment was obviously packed wrong at Amazon before shipped to me. 12, quart jars shrunk wrapped onto a cardboard flat, and tossed into a box with just a small thin layer bubble wrap on the bottom and one end. The results? Yup, broken glass.
I will order these from my grocery store next time.

HORRIBLE chemical smell! Had to throw out lids and jars were still AWFUL

These seem to be the basic Ball mason jars I've always bought, but when I opened these I was made physically ill by the incredible chemical fumes which poured out when I opened the lids. I'm not talking about your regular new plastic or rubbery smell--this was some insanely intense stuff that came out of each jar-- it was so bad I've been nauseas and coughing and airing out my kitchen for two days straight. Truthfully, I haven't smelled anything like this before, it was far worse than diesel exhaust or anything else I can think of. Would have returned them immediately but I'd already thrown out the packaging. I threw out the flat part of the lid with the seal around the edges, then put the glass and metal screw lids through my dishwasher and regret it, because the chemical smell permeated my house and is still making me sick. I've run through the wash cycle and three rinse cycles and regret whatever I've sent down the drain. I wonder where in the world they're making these now, and with what! Ironically, I had bought them to use as a healthier alternative to plastic.

They arrived promptly unbroken. I use these for canning, and storing dry goods. They seal with a vacuum sealer. You can also buy sprouting lids on amazon that will fit wide mouth canning jars. As soon as I open chips, crackers or cookies I put that in a jar. It keeps insects away AND makes it more likely to consume only a small portion. Store your powdered milk, flour, sugar, tea leaves, coffee beans, dried beans, and pasta in these. Make up in batches your favorite baking mixes and add to these jars. Store dried fruit and vegetables here. I keep a LARGE jar of dried onions and one of dried mushrooms to use in soups and sauces such as for spaghetti. If your remotely thinking about buying these, buy one set of 12. You will wonder what you did without them. Its difficult these days to find an item for a dollar apiece, $12 for a set of 12! Perfect!!
