I'm really going to review jars. Yep, jars. I don't use glass jars for canning but keep them to store items that come in plastic or to freeze homemade soups, juices, etc. They are also great for certain leftovers. I was running low on pint jars so ordered these thinking most jars would be the same from one brand to another except for slight esthetics. That is the usual situation anyway but these jars are nice. They have ounce markings on one side and a pretty floral design etched into the glass on the other side. Much prettier than a plain jar. They are as thick and sturdy as any other glass jar. Wide mouth jars (regardless of brand) are much easier to load, unload and to wash as well. I am so pleased that these Bell jars have a little personality. The price was decent too and with prime shipping they arrived unbroken in two days. If you need a box full of pretty jars, these are highly recommended. I sure hope amazon com continues to sell this brand.

I purchased these jars because I had heard so much about the dangers of storing my food in plastic containers and the possibility that the plastic could lead to dangerous chemicals into the food that I was storing into it and these things could cause cancer in the long run.
I did not expect to be so happy with the actual performance of the jar. I was able to freeze food in these jars for weeks on end without any frostbite or freezer burn taking place. I also found that when I stored food in these jars even in the normal refrigerator that the food would last longer than it would if I were to store food in plastic containers.
I was extremely happy with the fact that the metallic coverings off the jars and never rested and I have been using these jars for over one year now and I have been using them very regularly. I did not expect that for the price I paid for these jars I would get such excellent quality jars which would last me far longer than any plastic containers I have ever used. The upside to this job is that it does not hold the orders of whatever you storing it, it washes clean and quickly and easily and is dishwasher safe.
On my next visit to the United States I plan to purchase myself to more sets of these jars and throw on my plastic containers away. I would highly recommend the purchase of these jars to anyone

Mason Jars - Useful As Always

I bought these for the specific use of making multiple breakfast smoothies at a time to freeze for the upcoming 10 or so days. They have been perfect for that in the two months I have had them and have proven themselves useful beyond that.

In regards to the smoothies, the first thing I noticed is that the freezer fill line is only a hair over 12oz. This was great for me as I tend to make calorie rich smoothies that are too large and 12oz is really an adequate amount for breakfast. If you're looking to freeze more fluid than that, these will explode so you should find a larger size.

The obvious other uses have been storing sauces and leftovers. The surprise use of these have really been beverages, specifically... beer! They perfectly hold 12oz or 16oz beers. They're also wide throughout and are easier to clean than pint glasses with my larger hands. That and I'd rather my guests drop a $1.50 mason jar rather than one of my nicer pint glasses when things get just a little bit sloppier.

Pros:
- Haven't broken a single one yet. They're doing their job in the freezer and have held it together during minor drops.
- 12oz freezer line. Also a con depending on your needs.
- Wide mouth is easy to clean.
- Generally nice to have more glassware around when needed for drinks and other uses.
- Rubber lining under lid reassures me that it won't spill even when not overly tightened.

Cons:
- 12oz freezer line. Also a pro depending on your needs.
- Lids will accumulate a little rust if not dried thoroughly. Has thus far wiped off easily but if neglected could be an issue.
- Lids are pretty light and thin. Once again, neglect could lead to squashing or bending a lid by accident. Would be annoying to have to only replace one or two. Would be nice if they came with a couple extras.

Overall, if a few of these get lost/broken in the everyday use, I'll buy more. Simple as that.

I have begun my jarring and different sizes are needed for different jobs I found these jars wonderful and this is the second set of jars I have bought from this particular company. I like the wide mouth it works for me and makes for easy cleaning the lids can be used several to about 5 times with out having to change them out and thats a plus for me because buying lids are tedious so never boil the lids to long 10 minutes and they will last a long time.

I recently got into home canning and have been using these Ball mason jars. Not much to say other than they seal very well as long as you follow the appropriate canning instructions. Also people tend to love drinking out of these things for some reason, I break them out at BBQ'S and fill them with ice and lemonade and you can see the smile on their faces...haha.
