I really like these sip and straw lids
I really like these sip and straw lids! I'm not using them for that purpose all the time. I'm a knitter, and I've made myself a "yarn jar." Take off the lid and put your yarn inside; insert the sip and straw lid; from the inside, thread your yarn through hole in the lid where the straw goes -- then screw the lid back on. Ball Jars make cute and handy "yarn jars" for a fraction of the cost of a yarn bowl. I have Ball Jars in 6 sizes -- I've thrown out my plastic containers and use the Ball Jars for storing anything from soup, nuts, dried beans, rice, pasta to dry dog food. Love my Ball Jars! Oh, I also love a nice Ball Jar filled with spring water and ice cubes and a sip an straw lid.Amazon has very good prices on Ball Jars. Ball Jar Wide Mouth Pint and Half Jars with Lids and Bands, Set of 9I really like the one and a half pint size, and you can't beat the price on Amazon -- free shipping with Prime Membership:) Thanks, Amazon!

Hole is a bit large for sipping, but works (we got a cuppow for drinking coffee out of).

We mostly use these for milkshakes and smoothies (we tend to make them really thick). The straws are pretty large which makes it easy to drink. The translucent green strip looks pretty cool, too.

The straws and lids clean well in the dishwasher (no specs of food stuck in the straws) and show no signs of wear after almost a month of daily use.

These lids work well to make sippy cups of small- mouthed mason jars. I love them. They don't leak when used as a sippy cup, though obviously, if you use the straw and tip the cup, it will go everywhere. I've attempted the other version of these that actually screw on, themselves. I've never had one that would even screw on properly, let alone not leak.

I don't care for the straws, as they are made long enough to fit a quart-sized jar. When drinking from a pint jar you could poke your brain out. They are incredibly too long.

So, as a sippy cup, they work great. If you're a straw person, maybe refine the technique a bit before drinking and driving. I'd get them again, and in a wide-mouth size.

Only wish we had found them sooner.
After having bought so many straw/drinking BPA free plastic cups for the whole family (Adult sippy cups as we call them) only to have the dishwasher and their need to be washed so much crack or weather them into leaking.
We work and get dirty and w/these we can actually just make drinks in another mason or ball jar and wash the straw and plastic lid insert and put a clean metal ring on and be into a clean new drink in no time flat.
They can work ok w/ no straw as well but I will be getting some silicone seal rings so they don't leak when we tip them during strawless use.
Best part is that we get to use glass to hold our bevs as BPA could be only one of many things that plastic could leach into our drinks.
Also we sometimes use our mateless clean socks over the outside of the jar to keep things colder longer.

These are exactly what I was looking for! I love to use my mason jars for beverages, but I’m always afraid I’ll accidentally knock it over and spill all over. (That has actually happened a couple of times.) These are perfect. Very good quality. Easy to clean. Nice, big hole for the straw. Yes, you do need the outer metal ring from the original mason jar lid to hold it in place. If you have those, then these are perfect.

Really like these lids. The straw cover fits perfectly on our wide mouth jars. Only complaint is the straws are somewhat sharp around the edges? The plastic is very thick as has a weird mouth feel. But that’s my only complaint! Very good quality

After 6 months of use, these hold up in the dishwasher without discoloring or material failure. This specific Ball Sip and Straw set looks bright and more upscale than some dingy alternatives I found when shopping. For anyone still drinking out of plastic, whether it's BPA free or not, buy a set these and dust off your wide mouth glass jars. These are an awesome, creative way to re-purpose and add pizzazz to drinkware without spending too much money. Glass is always better than plastic in permanent uses, especially when your new glassware is already waiting in your cabinet.

We are chronic water drinkers. Never is anyone in my family not without a glass of water. We all have hydro flasks and use them when on outdoor adventure, but around the house we are dedicated to drinking from mason jars. Our tea's, water, smoothies... all go into mason jars with straws (we have a straw fetish). For spills they don't seal completely, so if the jar was to be knocked over, the contents will pill out (of the hole where the straw is, not the threaded sides), but if caught immediately than most of the liquid remains in the jar. I am going to get a narrower mason jar (for canning asparagus) and a plastic lid to take with me in my car. they come with nice thick straws that help when drinking thick smoothies and they clean easier. The lids clean well on the top rack of the dishwasher.
