i really love this authors voice, her words create all the feels and they bring me right into the moment.. and example: 'The way he looked at Lee, like he was surprised and amazed and so ....grateful to have Lee there, made Lee's breath stop.'
Only a wonderfully strong and gentle man like Patrick, would wear a tutu and glitter for his daughter and wear it with pride. Lee is also strong and secure and i was so happy that they got their perfect time to be together. This time they were both single and the stars aligned for them to connect.
This is a short story, but so well written that there was time for friendship and time for physical intimacy. i loved this line in the book: 'If he'd thought Lee in a ballet uniform was liquid sex, seeing him all naked, all those sinewy muscles on full display, was out-of-the stratosphere sexy'
This is hands down the best, short story, holiday read of the year for me!
I received an ARC at no cost from the author
Perfect, short read to just feel good about the world again. Sweet, Xmas-y stories like this will do that for you every time🎄
It almost gets too sugary for a moment there and then it doesn't. Seems like a insta-love for a moment there and then it's not really cause it's been slow burning for years.
It's just lovely ^^
This is a wonderful holiday romance between a hockey player and a dancer who have known and liked each other since high school but never been single at the same time.
This is the right time. Lots of fun here!
Patrick is a tough professional hockey player who would do anything for his daughter, including showing up in a tutu to her holiday dance recital. Her ballet instructor, Lee, was surprised to see his high school crush showing up in his studio. The attraction is instantaneous and holiday time seems like the perfect moment to give themselves the opportunity of a new love.
It was a beautiful story. They were a nice couple, as short as it was there wasn't too much time to spend building up a more slow-burn relationship, which I prefer, but it was very enjoyable. They seem just perfect for each other. It is a little fast paced but there was enough time to deliver a believable romance with some hot scenes and some sweet Christmas moments.
Jordan was a sweet character, she had the appropriate attitude for her age and was very likable. One of the things I think it could be better was the fact that the story was mostly centered on Patrick's life and we got to know only a little about Lee. I would love to know Lee better; he seems very nice.
Overall it was an adorable story, very enjoyable and appropriate for reader who enjoy holiday stories
This is a lovely little book and just right for a cosy Christmas read.
The book is full tenderness and sweet humour that at no point sinks into saccharin or corniness.
Patrick is a rough, tough, professional hockey player. He has grown men quaking in their skates, but one little girl has him wrapped tightly around her adorable finger, to the point he turns up at the mother-and-daughter Christmas dance at her ballet school wearing a tutu. He’s mortified to discover he’s the only one. Even worse, he meets an old flame, who happens to be Jordan’s dance teacher – while glittering.
This is the start of a lovely, sensitive, sweet, and sensual love story. I would have loved the book to be longer, to find out more about Pat and Lee. That being said, the book is complete in itself and is not one of those that needs more words to fully flesh out the story. It’s perfectly crafted just as it is.
This is definitely a book to read curled up under a blanket with a cocoa at your side and a few hours of nothing to do. It’s a “can’t put down” book so don’t start it before bed. It is full of feels and will leave you smiling and fuzzy. The ending was particularly satisfying. I highly recommend at Christmas or any time of the year.
It is about a single divorced father, as well as hockey player. It's set during the holiday season.
This was such a good read. I loved the key players. Patrick and Lee/Ash/Ashely met in high school and had a connection back then. They each had a crush on each other. Now we fast forward and Patrick is taking his young daughter to her holiday ballet recital and the see on another again. Normally his ex-wife would take his daughter but she couldn't.
I loved both men. They were cute and fun. Who would not love reading about a big burly hockey player showing up to dance in the recital with his little girl in a pink tutu? He is afraid his teammates will give him grief when it comes out.
This, like I said is a good snuggle up by the fire holiday read. It was written well and easy to follow. I well and truly enjoyed it. I just wish it was a bit longer.
