The info for the Ballistix RAM stated it was fully compatible with my Phenom/board, so I rolled the dice and bought it. It worked on the first try ;)
I've used this RAM on 64-bit Kubuntu 13.10, 64-bit Windows Server 2008r2 (which is essentially Windows 7), and on 64-bit Windows Server 2012 (which is essentially Windows 8.0). All of these OSs were installed normally to a partition on the same HDD, and all of them were able to see and use all of my now 12GB of RAM across 3 sticks.
I haven't tested this RAM with any 32-bit OSs. Maybe it would only use half, maybe it wouldn't be able to use any. I dunno.
I've purchased a total of 5 of these ram sticks and I've had only 1 of the 5 be DOA (Dead on Arrival). With that said It has a 80% success rate in my standards. The Dead stick made the computer Crash constantly but would still be recognized as the correct stick.

If the memory module (RAM) that you need is: DDR3, DIMMs, 1600MHz, PC3, 12800, 204-PIN etc, and the maximum memory is 16GB, 32GB or even 64GB, then this one should be fine.
There might be 2x memory sockets or 4x or even 8x inside your PC, as long as one socket can hold up to 8GB, then this one should be fine, but if it's for 4GB, don't use this one as it's 8GB.
FYI, if your PC is a 64-bit system, normally one memory socket can hold up to 8GB, so if you have 4x sockets then you can upgrade it to up to 32GB (4x 8GB). If your PC is a 32-bit system, then probably a socket can hold up to 4GB so this RAM won't work. So check the specifications of your PC first and check the memory type that you can put in your PC.
Memory modules with high capacity aren't cheap, but they're getting much cheaper than before, and this is a famous brand Crucial, so that's good for my reassurance too.
They worked as soon as the motherboard was configured to the appropriate timing. Good price for the capacity and performance. Was installed on a (old!) ASUS P8P67rev3 motherboard.
