What a heap of drivel! This stuff makes Jack Handy look like Socrates.

The entire book is just dime store pep-talk and empty platitudes wrapped in tortured decoration. Each page is nothing more than a line or two pulled from a fortune cookie set in some jaunty type font and surrounded by vintage clip art and broad swaths of earthy color. If you set the type in 10pt Helvetica and got rid of all the window dressing, the actual content could be printed on something that would fit in your wallet.

You know that ol saw Style over Substance? Well it was created to describe works like this one.

Here is a startling insight from the book.

... in this uber-competitive career market place, if you only give 100% you will only get an okay career. If you want a fantastic career you gotta give 150%"

Seriously, this is the stuff that fills out the pages of this ridiculous tome.

All I can say is that Ballsy is what the writer was when she pitched this book, and SUPREEMELY Ballsy when the publisher stuck a $14.99 price tag on it.

This is certainly a page turner. Fun and funny. Then it's done and you have no idea what you wasted your time on. Not that it took much time.

I simply love these kind of books written by sales people and marketers. They get me to buy a book that just isn't worth the price. But it sure looks cool and gave me a few laughs.

If you mostly read books for entertainment value this book is for you. If you read them to actually learn something useful, leave this one be.

Cheers,
Jeremy

I gave this book to my 20 something son ,
he loved it..not to mention it has given him
some real "ballsy" ideas of how not to let people
step on you in business or personal life.
I have bought other books by same author for myself
they are all winners
you'll love the clean consice way each page gives you a bullet,
not heavy "psyche" reading , it's easy to pick up/ put down

I loved this book for its aesthetics; it is beautifully over-designed and I spent a good while admiring its visuals. But after the initial attraction wore off, the book and the author didn't have much to offer. This is just a collection of trite motivational maxims without any practical information. Beautifully presented, mildly amusing but ultimately useless.

I didn't buy this for me. I already have a copy. This is probably the 4th or 5th copy I have bought for other people. The book is chock full of nuggets of smart thinking. I love this book. It is great for someone just entering the workforce out of college just as much for someone seasoned. Great wisdom and advice.

A total waste of your time. There was nothing in here that is not in every other self help book you ever picked up. What you are paying for is cutesy color drawings and very few words in the form of business tips from a girl who has never had a real business unless you consider being an advertising writer a real business. Her style and advice to you is to be a little edgier, louder and self-loving than the next guy or gal and you will succeed beyond your wildest dreams. Don't let a pretty book cover and an affordable price fool you into making this girl more money for doing nothing special. As far as tip# 44 goes: "Hedonism aids creativity," you will ask yourself what in the hell she is even saying, as there is no indication at all from the few words on this page that she understands the definition of hedonism. "Hedonism" is not the same as kindness or providing happiness through gift giving as she says, and as a writer, she should know the proper definition of this word, especially when she is taking up a whole page advising us to incorporate the philosophy of hedonism, which if most business owners did as a matter of course- they would be the laughing stock of their community and a personal failure. Hedonism is a way of life of putting self-indulgent pleasure above all! Oops, I can surely forgive her little confusion on this and take to my chest her tip #60: "Even a schmuck can teach you things."

Some of the advice is silly and doesn't make sense to me, but other advice is very good.

Each page spread has a tip and a summary; sometimes the summary seems to have nothing to do with the original tip, and I wonder how the author made that jump.

But it's a very visually pleasing book to read, because each page has a unique design. That is my favorite part.
