Another slight gripe I have is that the nibs are inset pretty deep. I attached the nib securely to the base, then screwed the metal tip over it tightly, and it -looks- right. The problem is that I don't write stiffly, if that makes sense. I move my wrist a lot while I write or draw, and I have to be careful to not tilt the stylus so much that the metal hits the screen. I figure over time, all that bumping and scraping will leave -some- sort of damage. Keep in mind, though, that I have bump-scratched my screen well over a dozen times, and I have yet to see it leave a mark. Take that how you will.
Artists: I have been using this to paint digitally on my iPad, and while it is better than any other stylus I've used (or heavens forbid, my finger), it's not fair to write this review as if the product was made as an artist's utensil. There are brushes and such on the market that might work better, but do keep in mind that those wear out [faster]. I decided against them because the whole reason I transitioned into mostly digital art is because it is all up-front cost. I don't want to run to the store to grab another iPad paint brush because the last one wore out. You might not mind the cost, but I do. This was a nice happy medium between that and using my finger. NOTE: If there's only one thing you take from this review, let it be that this is nothing close to replacing a Wacom Pen Tablet. An iPad/mobile tablet + Bamboo Solo Stylus combination is only a nice portable alternative, if you don't want to lug your whole computer around. If you're looking for something to give you a feel for digital art before you dive into your wallet for a Wacom Pen Tablet, this probably is not going to give you a very accurate feel for painting digitally. If you are serious about trying out digital art and don't want to drop a whole (or several) paycheck(s) on a really nice pen tablet, the Wacom Bamboo -Tablet- is a perfect way to do that.

By the way, I have purchased two others of the same model of Bamboo stylus earlier, they worked perfectly, have a matte color finish, no dents or blemishes. Unfortunately it seems like buying the genuine article has become a bit like playing Russian roulette and I hope Amazon does something to address this authenticity issue with their sellers ASAP!!
