Our wedding featured a candy buffet overflowing with Haribo gummy candy. It's very hard to use a scoop with this type of candy, so I thought tongs would be easier. I didn't want anything large or expensive, and I needed quite a few. These tongs worked out perfectly! I was hesitant to buy them because there were no reviews and I'm one of those people who like to read through reviews before buying any product. I'm glad I went ahead and got them anyway! Although they are labeled as disposable, they are surprisingly sturdy. We didn't have any breakage, even with overexcited kids using them to fill up candy bags as fast as possible! I'm not saying that these will last for years, but they are certainly good for more than a single use. I went with the 6.3" tongs which were a good size. They sell 3.9" tongs, but I think those would have been way too small for my needs. The 6.3" size seems like it would be perfect for many uses. However, if you are going to use them for something like serving salad, I would suggest looking for something a bit larger, unless you're planning on serving one piece of lettuce and one tomato at a time!

I used these as serving utensils for wedding appetizers- veggies & fruit trays, crackers & cheese, rolled sliced meat, and pickle tray. They worked great. I did try to wash them (in the dishwasher) and save for a future use. If you dishwash them and then put elastics around the ends while they are hot, they will return to their normal shape. I'm sure hand washing would be fine, but after the hard worked involved in preparing for the event, I decided that I was either going to toss them or machine wash them. Great price for their usefulness. I thought about buying low cost stainless, but saw so many bad reviews about the tongs not having enough strength or spring, I'm glad I went with these.
