He's got way more detailing and poseability than the NECA one, standing fairly in scale with him. He's got a waist swivel as well as leg and arm rotation. His arms can rotate at the shoulder, elbows, and wrists, fairly far. He can bend his knees, rotate and tilt his feet, and has a point on his ankles that allow him to get that wide stance. The tail has tons of articulation and can hold a variety of poses. Mouth can open fairly wide to get that angry roar action. Good stuff.
Some minor complaints is that the paintjob on the head is a little weird. The teeth and mouth have some weird red on them, making it look like he just ate a monster and is covered and blood. Some people don't like it. I, myself, don't mind it personally. You can find photos online and make the decision for yourself on how it looks. Also, depending on what figure, one eye might be looking in the other direction. That does kind of bug me, but I'm sure it's something that can be fixed with a quick DIY paintjob, if you're the type of person that likes to customize their figures. No accessories like the other SH Monsterarts figures. No buildings to destroy or even a MUTO head to play with (included on the newer version). Again, this didn't bother me personally. I just wanted a good poseable figure of the big G. He's compatible with other Monsterarts accessories if that's a consolation.
If you adored the 2014 movie as I did, then go for it. Highly recommended.
